A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Virgil B. Hall.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Virgil B. Hall, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Virgil B. Hall was born on November 28, 1928, a native of Grethel, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Okeechobee, Florida, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 11, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Virgil B. Hall was the loving son of the late William J. and Maudie Vance Hall; and he also was preceded in death by four brothers, two half-brothers, and three half-sisters; he was the devoted husband of 50 years to Jane Hall; he was the loving father of two sons, Renny Hall of Prestonsburg and Redgy Hall of Okeechobee, Florida; and he was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Shanna Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina, Heather VanHoose of Paintsville, Christina Pitts of Mount Sterling, Renny Alan Hall of Lexington and Laken Hall of Prestonsburg, and he was the proud step-grandfather of two step-granddaughters, Kerrie and Brittany Patton; and the proud great-grandfather of two great-grandchildren, Shala Spradlin and Austin VanHoose, both of Paintsville; and he also leaves behind two loving sisters, Delphia Driggs of Towsen, Maryland, and Eloise Pratt of Columbus, Ohio, and three loving brothers, James K. Hall of Beaver, Forrest Hall of Grethel, and Denzil Ray Hall of McDowell; and

WHEREAS, Virgil B. Hall served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Navy during the Korean War, aboard the USS Helena; and

WHEREAS, Virgil B. Hall was a successful businessman and contractor, and he worked in California, Idaho, Ohio, and Kentucky before retiring to Okeechobee, Florida, in 1986; and he was an avid golfer and fisherman, and enjoyed his family and many friends; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Virgil B. Hall has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Virgil B. Hall, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Virgil B. Hall.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Jane Hall, 3035 S. E. 26th Street, Okeechobee, Florida 34974.
