JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: / Cash and Bank Accountant

Main Purpose of Job:

To maintain all cashbooks; cash receipts, payments and reconciliations.

Key Tasks:

1.  Daily banking and control of all receipts

2.  Cash book postings (obtaining necessary back up documentation and posting journals)

3.  Prepare bank reconciliations for all Group bank accounts, explaining the reason for all reconciling items and ensuring that only current items remain outstanding

4.  Petty cash processing

5.  Credit card processing

6.  Arrange and account for intercompany settlements

7.  Review bank accounts portfolio for appropriateness and administer changes to bank accounts

Additional Requirements
Qualifications/Training:
Good standard of education, in particular numeracy
Experience:
Experience of working in a Finance Department for at least two years
Able to carry out account reconcilations
Basic accounting skills, understanding of coding of transactions
Experienced user of financial database systems and reporting tools
Ability to plan and work accurately to tight deadlines
Good interpersonal skills
Personal characteristics/circumstances:

Desirable qualifications/experience
Willing to study for accountancy qualification
Familiarity with current financial systems
