Final Project Documentation/Assessment

Spring 2001

Instructor: Borquez

Due: Monday, May 7th by 5:00 pm (submit it electronically via email)

  1. In your own words, describe the workflow of the application your team created. Include any specific requirements from the client (STC) and the impact it had on the development of your solution. Do you agree with the workflow generated by the functional team, why or why not? What workflow components would you add, or remove, to make the application more functional?
  1. In the space provided below, describe the technical architecture of the application your team created. You may use illustrations to help assist your explanation. What technologies were used in your application to meet the functional requirements? Do you agree with all the different technology choices that were selected, why or why not? What technology components would add, or remove, to make the application more robust
  1. XML has been the underlying technology behind Business-to-Business Applications. How is XML used in your B2B Solution? If XML is not currently being used in your team’s solution, how could it be used in your application in the future? How could XML be used with Security Textiles Corporations’ Buyers (e.g. St. John Knits)?
  1. Security Textiles Corporation’s technology manager has recently been informed that SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is an upcoming protocol for companies using applications over the Internet. The technology manager has requested that you provide a short explanation of SOAP and whether or not STC can use this new technology within their B2B Initiative. Make sure you defend your recommendations with examples/reasoning.

Note: visit to find a quick overview of SOAP.
