APPENDIX 1

GUIDELINES FOR SPONSOR CLUBS

VOCATIONAL TRAINING TEAM

DENTAL FOCUSED Project 2015

DISTRICT 9910 Vanuatu

The role of the sponsor club includes support of the team member in their preparation for the exchange.

This support consists of providing Rotary information at Club, District, National and International level and to assist the team member to be a good ambassador for Rotary, the sponsor club and Australia.

This is best achieved by providing a club member as a mentor and inviting the team member to visit the club.

At least two club visits are desirable before departure.

The first, just as a visitor and the second, as a guest speaker where the team member should be invited to give a presentation on themselves, their preparations and expectations from the exchange.

On their return team members should be invited back as guest speaker, giving them the opportunity to share their experience and outline what they have learned.

Further ongoing involvement with club activities is also strongly encouraged.

SPONSORSHIP:

Sponsorship includes a financial commitment on the part of the club.

Firstly, club banners need to be made available to the team member for exchange at Club presentations in Vanuatu. The banners collected from the visited clubs will be presented to the sponsor club by the team member on their return.

Secondly, it is expected that a sponsor club will assist in offsetting some of the necessary official costs incurred by a team member undertaking an exchange. These include such things as uniforms, thank you cards, immunizations and visas. As a guideline, and in order to have some consistency across the team, it would be appropriate if sponsor clubs assisted the team member with an allowance of $600. This will still leave the team members with a financial commitment greater than this amount.
