Interstate Gang of Car Jackers Busted

  • Interstate Gang of Car jackers busted.
  • Five persons arrested for carjacking in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
  • 10 cars and a motorcycle recovered and more than 20 cases of car jacking have been worked out.

A team of officers of Crime Branch led by Inspr. Jitender Kundu and consisting of SI. Anil Malik, ASI Jagdish, ASI Rishi, HC Ghanshyam, HC Sanjay Singh, HC Narender Dabas, HC Veerpal, HC Naresh, HC Anil, HC Abrar and Ct. Virender under the supervision of Addl. DCP Joy Tirkey have busted an interstate gang of car jackers. 5 persons have been arrested. 10 cars, including 1 Tata Safari, 1 Maruti Swift Dezire, 2 Tata Indigos, 1 Maruti Esteem, 1 Maruti Zen, 2 Tata Indica, 2 Mahindra Boleros and a motorcycle have been recovered from their possession. The gang has been active in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Information was received by HC Veerpal that Praveen @ Sonu and his associates were involved in a large number of car jackings in Delhi and adjoining states. On 16.5.2011 a trap was laid near Rithala Metro Station and Praveen @ Sonu (aged 31 years) s/o Ramphal Sharma r/o Village Nangal Kalan Rai, Sonipat, Haryana was apprehended by the police team at 1 AM in the morning while he was travelling in a Tata Safari Car. The car was found stolen from Ludhiana. At his instance his two other associates namely Sajjid (aged 28 years) s/o Tahir r/o Kasba Kithore, Meerut, UP and Sangeet (aged 28 years) s/o Jagdish Prasad r/o 8/604, Street No. 3, Adarsh Nagar, Modi Nagar, UP were also arrested from Meerut on 20.5.2011. A stolen Maruti Zen car was recovered from Sajjid and a stolen Maruti Esteem car was recovered from Sangeet. The Maruti Zen car was found stolen from the area of Maurya Enclave, Delhi. The Maruti Esteem car was found stolen from the area of Saraswati Vihar, Delhi. Further two other associates Mandeep (aged 26 years) s/o Ranveer Singh r/o Katte Wali Bodla Fazilka Sadar, Firozpur, Punjab and Gagan (aged 22 years) s/o Deshraj r/o Pawera Nangal Choudhary, Mahindergarh, Haryana were arrested on 25.5.2011 from the area of Rajpura, Punjab while they were travelling on a motorcycle which was found stolen from the area of Vijay Vihar, Delhi. At the instance of the above mentioned accused persons 7 other jacked cars from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh were recovered. 20 cases of car jacking/thefts of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh have been worked out.

MODUS OPERANDI

The gang targeted vehicles which could be easily used for commercial purposes. They preferred Mahindra Bolero, Tata Indigo, Tata Indica and Tata Safari as these vehicles could easily be used as taxies. One of the gang members has been identified as a serving constable in Punjab Police. He has played an active role in the robberies/theft of cars from Ludhiana, Punjab. He also played an active role in the disposal of vehicles jacked from Delhi and Haryana in Punjab.

PROFILE

1.Praveen @ Sonu (aged 31 years) s/o Ramphal Sharma r/o Village Nangal Kalan Rai, Sonipat, Haryana:- He is the leader of the gang and has numerous cases of car jacking, vehicle theft, attempt to murder and illegal possession of fire arms registered against him in various police stations of Delhi and Haryana. He has been out on bail since 11 months.

  1. Sajjid (aged 28 years) s/o Tahir r/o Kasba Kithore, Meerut, UP – He is also a known criminal and has two criminal cases registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested in a case of murder in 2010 in police station Muzaffar Nagar and for car theft in police station Lisari Gate, Meerut, UP. He runs a small scrap dealing business and several robbed/stolen vehicles were disposed through him.
  2. Sangeet (aged 28 years) s/o Jagdish Prasad r/o 8/604, Street No. 3, Adarsh Nagar, Modi Nagar, UP – He runs a Judo school in Modi Nagar. He represented Uttar Pradesh in the National Judo Championship in the year 2006. He met Praveen @ Sonu in Tihar Jail when he was arrested for vehicle theft by Delhi Police in 2009. He was found previously involved in 5 cases of theft in Delhi.
  3. Mandeep (aged 26 years) s/o Ranveer Singh r/o Katte Wali Bodla Fazilka Sadar, Firozpur, Punjab – He is a high school dropout and has two theft cases registered against him in the year 2010 in Faridkot and Nawa Sahar, Punjab. He assisted the gang in disposal of stolen vehicles.
  4. Gagan (aged 22 years) s/o Deshraj r/o Pawera Nangal Choudhary, Mahindergarh, Haryana- He is also a high school dropout. He assisted the gang in disposal of stolen vehicles.

Further investigation is in progress.

FAKE MAID PLACEMENT BUREAU RACKET BUSTED : 4 ACCUSED WHO CHEATED MORE THAN 50 PERSONS IN DELHI AND NCR ARRESTED

With the arrest of four accused namely Rahul @ Karan @ Phullaki s/o Ram Bahadur r/o F-279, Khanpur Quarters, New Delhi, Yash Kumar s/o Dini Khidki r/o Yangling Basti, PS Saran, District Ganjing, Nepal, Dev Kumar s/o Karanpal Bagdogra, District Darjiling, Sikkim and Shanti w/o Subash r/o Sarlai, PS Sarlai, District Haerpur, Nepal, the staff of PS Fatehpur Beri, South District busted an interstate fake domestic maid placement bureau racket who duped more than 50 innocent citizens of Delhi and NCR who approached them for domestic help / maid. 7 mobile phones, cash Rs. 10,000/-, 12 SIM Cards, 4 ATM/Debit/Shopping Cards, Fake Maid Registration Certificate, 10 Diaries containing the details of cheated persons, blank forms of bureau, visiting cards, fake stamps and citizenship card of Nepal has been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT /BRIEF FACTS :

Complainant Smt. Sahiba Iqbal Khan w/o Kamar Iqbal Khan r/o 149/2, B-5, Neelkanth Apartment, New Basti, Devli, New Delhi visited PS Fatehpur Beri and reported that she is working as Senior Business Analyst in the Colt Technology, Gurgoan. She read an advertisement in a newspaper (National Daily) regarding the Maid Placement Bureau in the name of Yogna Placement Services (Regd,), DeraVillage near Shiv Mandir, Fatehpur Beri for providing fully trained maid servants. She contacted on the given mobile numbers and one Rahul, introduced himself as owner of the Agency and promised for providing fully trained maid against the annual commission of Rs. 12,000/- and a monthly salary of Rs. 2,500/- per month to the maid. Since the complainant was in dire need of domestic help being a working woman, she agreed to pay the same. It was decided that complainant along with her husband would meet Rahul personally in the Placement Bureau to take the maid with them.

On 19.05.11 at about 10.30 PM, accused Rahul on the pretext of guiding the way of the Placement Bureau met them at a DeraVillage intersection. He showed the maid to the complainant and received Rs. 14,800/- as per the written agreement. The complainant took the girl along and reached back to her home. The maid behaved normally and after completing the household work went to sleep. In the early morning at 4 AM, the complainant’s husband left for work and when the complainant got up at 7.30 AM, she found that the maid had run away from the house. She searched her in the vicinity but did not find her. After that she rang up in the Placement Bureau and the owner Rahul promised her to send her back soon. However, the complainant didn’t get any replacement or the hard earned money back. Later on, accused did not respond and switched off his mobile phones. The complainant along with her husband visited at the given address but the same was found to be fake. Accordingly, she reported the matter to PS Fatehpur Beri. After verifying the facts, a case vide FIR No. 107/11 dated 25/05/11 u/s 420/468/471/34 IPC PS Fatehpur Beri was registered and investigation taken up.

INVESTIGATION :

Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter and mass problem of the society, a team comprising Inspr. A.K. Singh, ASI Tulsi Ram, HC Shubhram, Ct Ishwari, Ct Sandeep, Ct Prem, Ct Pradeep was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Anil Sharma, SHO/PS Fatehpur Beri under the overall supervision of Sh. Rajinder Singh, ACP/Mehrauli to nab the culprits. During the course of investigation, it revealed that magnitude of the problem is quite severe and the gang members have duped large number of people in NCR. Further investigation also revealed that the gang is quite sharp and used to change their hideouts and mobile numbers frequently to conceal their identity. Sources were deployed to develop the information about accused persons and the pattern of cheating studied which indicated that the accused are rampantly giving the addresses of DeraVillage. Staff was also deployed in plain cloths with the photographs of the accused in Villages Mandi and Dera which finally brought good results. On 25.05.11, a secret information received from a reliable sources that kingpin of the gang Rahul @ Karan @ Phulmani Tamang would come at Mandi Bus Stand in evening. Immediately, the members of team swung into action and a trap was laid at Mandi Bus Stand. At about 6 PM, as soon as accused Rahul came at Mandi Bus Stand, the alert members of team overpowered him.

INTERROGATION :

On sustained interrogation, accused disclosed the names of his four associates in this syndicate. At the instance of accused, his associates namely Shanti, Yash Kumar and Dev Kumar were arrested from Village Jaunapur, Delhi. Further accused disclosed that so far they have duped more than 50 innocent people in Delhi and NCR for more than Rs. 7.5 Lacs since last 7 years. One of the accused namely Bindiya Tamang r/o New Ashok Nagar, who belongs to District New Jalpaigudi, West Bengal is absconding and further investigation is on to locate her.

MODUS OPERANDI :

The modus operandi of the gang is that they used to give advertisements in the reputed newspapers for placement of fully trained maid by giving fake address of Placement Bureau in Delhi. When working couple contacts them over telephone and after finalization of deal, they used to meet them at a specified place instead calling them at fake office address on one pretext or the other. After handing over maid to the victim, they used to take whole year commission and a month salary of maid. After that on getting a chance, the maid used to run away from the house of victim and accused used to switch off their mobile phones.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :

1.Rahul @ Karan @ Phullaki (35 years) s/o Ram Bahadur r/o F-279, Khanpur Quarters, New Delhi is a school dropout. He is married and has 4 children. He belongs to Village Narda, District Trishuli, Nepal. His wife resides in Nepal.

2.Yash Kumar (25 years) s/o Dini Khidki r/o Yangling Basti, PS Saran, District Ganjing, Sikkim has studied up to 10th class. He had solemnized his marriage just three months ago. Presently, he along with his wife is residing in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi as tenant and both are involved in the racked of supplying fake maids.

3.Dev Kumar (23 years) s/o Karanpal Bagdogra, District Darjiling,West Bengal has sudied upto 10th class. He is unmarried. He is an active member of this gang.

4.Shanti (35 years) w/o Subash r/o Sarlai, PS Sarlai, District Haerpur, Nepal. She has two children and presently residing in New Ashok Nagar as tenant. She is operating as a fake maid & a member of this gang.

ONE EXTORTIONIST NABBED, WHILE ILLEGALLY PROSECUTING THE DRIVERS OF THE VEHICLES BY IMPERSONATING AS POLICE OFFICIAL

One wrestler namely Parveen Kumar s/o Krishan Kumar r/o Village Khuddan, P.S. Jhajjar, Haryana, has been nabbed by the officials of North District Police, who was illegally stopping and collecting money from the drivers of the so called offending vehicles in the area of PS Sarai Rohilla alongwith his associate namely Vivek, by impersonating themselves as police officials.

INCIDENT AND TEAM

On 26.05.2011, Inspector Jai Bhagwan, SHO/Sarai Rohilla received information that two persons are illegally stopping and collecting money from the drivers of vehicles at T-Point near Chowki No. 2, Gulabi Bagh by impersonating themselves as police officials. On this information a police team consisting of ASI Bachchu Singh, Ct Parveen Rawat and Ct Rajesh Malik under the supervision of Insp Naresh Chander, Insp. Investigation/Sarai Rohilla rushed to the spot, where they found that two persons are checking the vehicles by placing the barricades. They had stopped a motorcycle and were arguing with the rider of the said motor cycle in the name of prosecution for traffic violation. On seeing the police team they started fleeing away from the spot. The team apprehended one person, who was identified as Parveen Kumar s/o KrishanKumarr/oVillage Khuddan, P.S. Jhajjar, Haryana, while another succeeded to flee from the spot. The victim motor cycle rider, Sh Rama Shankar, resident of Old Chandrawal, Civil Lines, Delhi stated that he was returning home after his duty at marriage function at Moti Nagar. Two persons stopped his motorcycle at barricades near Chowki No. 2 and asked him to produce the documents of his motorcycle. When he produced his driving license those person asked him to show Pollution Certificate, which he was not having. One of them pulled out the keys of his motorcycle and told that he would be prosecuted for an amount of rupees 1200/-. Sh Rama Shankar expressed his inability to pay the said amount. But those persons told him to pay the amount immediately as their senior officers are coming. Rama Shankar became suspicious and asked to meet the senior officers. During this course they forcibly took out Rs 500/- from the pocket of the complainant. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 181/11 dated 26.05.2011 u/s 384/419/170/34 IPC has been registered at police station Sarai Rohilla on the compliant of Sh. Rama Shankar and investigation taken up.

INTERROGATION

During interrogation, accused Parveen Kumar disclosed that he is a wrestler and is practicing with his friend Vivek at the Akhara situated at ShastriNagarPark. But he has no source of income. As both the friends were well built, they conspired to earn money by impersonating themselves as police officials. They generally used to check the vehicles during late night hours by placing the barricades. For avoiding any suspicion they also used to shift the place of checking. Identity of Vivek has been disclosed as the resident of Village Kutlupur, District Sonepat. Teams have been sent to his native place to apprehend him.

Desperate Robber arrested by Special Staff of South East District

Case of robbery of PS Amar Colony solved

Looted motorcycle & mobile phone recovered.

With the arrest of one person namely Bajrangi Chauhan, aged 28 years, s/o Ram Suresh Chauhan r/o F-284, Dakshinpuri, New Delhi, the Special Staff of South-East District have solved a case of robbery and recovered looted Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle. A Samsung mobile phone was also recovered.

INCIDENT

On 21.05.11, Shri Hemant Kaushik, age 30 years, s/o late Sh. Kamal Kaushik r/o 59-B, Block-M, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi reported at Police Station Amar Colony that on 21.05.2011, he was returning home from Vasant Vihar. At about 10.30 PM, due to bad weather and rain, he took shelter under Metro Line, near Moolchand Metro Station in the area of PS Amar Colony and in the meantime two young boys aged about 25-28 years came and snatched his Samsung mobile phone, purse containing Driving License, debit card, Identity Card, Rs. 200/- by beating him and ran away after snatching his belongings and Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle No. DL 3SBF 6600. On this a case vide FIR No. 200/11, u/s 392/34 IPC was registered at PS Amar Colony.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION:-

A team of Special Staff South-East Distt was constituted under the supervision of ACP Operation/SED Sh. Virender Kalia and comprising of Inspr. Akhilesh Yadav, Incharge Special Staff, ASI Bhagirath Prashad, HCs Anil, Ram Mehar, Consts. Arun Kumar and Satish developed intelligence regarding such gangs operating in the district. The team received some credible information regarding few criminals operating in South-East District. The information was further developed and on the basis of a credible information the above team arrested one Bajrangi Chauhan, aged 28 years, s/o Ram Suresh Chauhan r/o F-284, Dakshinpuri, New Delhi, when he was going on the robbed motorcycle at T-Point, BRT Corridore near Gali No. 42, DDA Flats, Madangir, New Delhi. On checking, the looted Samsung mobile was also recovered from his possession.
