Demonstration Walls Needed

1. WALL FRAME CONSTRUCTION (see detail attached)

Provide three (3) frames as shown in FIGURE 1. Studs should be metal, but can be wood if metal availability is a problem. Metal frames can be screwed together, welding is not necessary.

Apply 1/2” DensGlass Gold to all three frames using #6 x 1 1/4" coated bugle head or wafer head screws with Type S point installed at 8” on-center. Install the DensGlass Gold with the gold side OUT, and broken as shown in FIGURE 2.

Prepare each panel as follows prior to the WET-WALL:

PANEL #1: Leave as is with DensGlass Gold installed per FIGURE 2.

PANEL #2: Apply Backstop NT - Texture over the DensGlass Gold per FIGURE 3.

Do not return the Backstop NT - Texture into the opening.

PANEL #3: Apply 2" thick I. S. Insulation Board, I. S. Closure Blocks, I. S.

Starter Strip, etc., as per FIGURE 4, and rasp the entire panel surface.

2. WET WALL DEMONSTRATION

PANEL #1:

Indicate:1.Proper Sheathing installation.

  • Fastener type and spacing
  • Offset joints from corners of openings
  • No gaps greater than 3/8'
  • Etc.

Show:1.Grid Tape installation

2.Mix Backstop NT - Texture material

3.Spot Grid Tape with Backstop NT - Texture

4.Apply Backstop NT - Texture over entire surface of DensGlass Gold. Do not return into opening

PANEL #2:

Indicate:1.Proper Air Barrier Installation and inspection.

Show:1.Apply AquaFlash at opening. See detail attached.

2.Install Detail Mesh around the opening and along the base.

3.Install the I. S. Vent Assembly and I. S. Starter Strip at base of wall. You may need a temporary support to prevent displacement. DO NOT USE NAILS.

4.Install I. S. Vent Track™ above l. S. Starter Strip with opening located directly above I. S. Vent.

5.Install the Closure Blocks at the corners of the opening and then fill in between. The top edge of the Closure Blocks at the head of the opening needs to be notched to accept the I.S. Track.

6.Install the I. S. Insulation Board and outside corner Closure Blocks to complete the EPS installation. Vertical grooves in the insulation board should be aligned.

PANEL #3:

Indicate:1.Proper EPS installation and inspection

Show:1.Slivering and rasping

2.Mixing of the I. S. Base material

3.Embed Detail Mesh at terminations

4.Embed I. S. Reinforcing Mesh in I. S. Base mixture. Show two (2) coat method

5.Double wrap the outside corner or use Corner Mesh

6.Discuss use of sealants
