Venue Overview / Whitecraigs is a private members club situated in Giffnock on the south side of Glasgow, Scotland. It has long been recognised as one of the premier clubs in Scotland with one of the most idyllic settings for tennis.
The club has 8 outdoor tennis courts (6 floodlit) which have all been resurfaced in late 2015 and is currently the only club within the West of Scotland to benefit from red artificial clay. Additionally, the club has, 3 squash courts, a gym, bar and food facilities alongside physiotherapists and beauticians working in the club offering a wide range of services to members and non-members alike.

Job Specification
The body of the posting. / The Head Coach should be enthusiastic, ambitious, self-motivated and an excellent communicator, with a desire to socialise and interact with the members of the club.
Applicants must have a minimum LTA Level 3 coach’s license.
The head coach will be responsible for all of the coaching at the club, working with the existing assistants to deliver a comprehensive coaching program, including but not limited to:
  • Adult coaching.
  • Junior coaching, including a full program for mini tennis and junior squads for all age groups.
  • Individual lessons & small groups.
  • Performance coaching (as required)
  • Junior camps during summer, Easter and October breaks.
  • Continuing links with the local schools and community
  • Continuing to help with the development and mentoring of young players in to coaches and the 'Young Coaches Program'.
  • Organising regular fun family and American tournaments.
Other areas, including administrative tasks that are required to be overseen by the Head Coach, with assistance from the coaching team and club administrators where required, include:
  • Being the main contact for the club for Tennis Scotland and West of Scotland, as well as the LTA.
  • Responsible for entering the junior and senior teams in to all league and cup competitions and assisting individual team captains.
  • Organisation and running/refereeing of the yearly club championship tournament.
  • Assisting with the organisation and running of club open days, including the Great British Tennis Weekend.
  • Playing for the clubs senior tennis teams in league and cup competitions.
  • Providing a stringing and equipment service
