IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MANCHESTER VAMC VETERANS

The Manchester VA Medical Center will be starting construction of our new Primary Care/Mental Health Outpatient addition
EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2013 AND THROUGHOUT

THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION

ENTRANCES:

1. Two building entrances will be CLOSED:

  • The entrance near the PharmacyANDthe entrance to Urgent Care, Primary CareandLaboratory. This includes the use of the covered drop-off circle.

2. Entrances that will remainACCESSIBLE:

  • Primary access to the Manchester VAMC for all clinics, to includeURGENT CAREshould be accessed through the Community Living Center (CLC) Building 15 entrance.Signage will be posted.
  • The Community Living Center (CLC) Building 15 entrance has handicapped accessibility.
  • The Main (Front) Entrance, adjacent to the Flag Polealso has handicapped accessibilityvia the wheelchair lift which isin close proximity.
  • The Community Living Center (Building 15) entrance will be open twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week for access to the Urgent Care. A YELLOW phone will be available outside of the Main (Front) Entrance and outside of the CLC entrance for those Veterans requiring immediate help.

ROAD CLOSURE:

The road accessing the Primary Care clinic, Laboratory and Urgent Care will be CLOSED. Traffic will not be able to use this road to access the rear portion of the Manchester VAMC campus. Signage will re-direct for parking, etc.

PARKING, SHUTTLE SERVICES, ANDMANCHESTER TRANSIT AUTHORITY BUS:

  1. A parking shuttle will run continuously from 7:00A – 3:30P, Monday – Friday to bring Veterans from the lower parking area to the Community Living Center (CLC) Building 15 entrance for their appointments. Veterans needing the shuttle to go back to the lower lot should wait under the awning at the CLC entrance.The parking shuttle will cycle every 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Veterans requiring shuttle service to the VA Boston Healthcare System will be asked to wait/check-in at the Oncology/Cardiology Clinic Waiting Area, Building 15, East Wing.
  3. The Manchester Transit Authority route will not change.

SMOKING:

  1. The smoking area located outside of the Pharmacywill be CLOSED. There are other smoking areas available around the medical center (see attached map for additional locations designated outside).
  2. All staff, visitors, contractors, and Veterans are reminded to comply and use alternate designated smoking areas as indicated on the attached map.

CLINIC LOCATIONS:

The construction of the new outpatient addition will NOT affect any clinic locations at this time.
