Scholarship Application

Scholarship Rules

  1. The Scholarship is available to *Members and *Associate Members or dependents (children or grandchildren) of the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association.

*Must be an owner, officer, or agent of the company paying dues to the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association. Members must have maintained membership for the three years prior to a student applying for the scholarship. Associate Members must have maintained membership for one year prior to a student applying for the scholarship.

  1. The Scholarship is available to a student enrolling in a college program or a returning college student. Priority will be given to a student enrolling in, or enrolled in, an agricultural field of study. The scholarship (in the amount awarded) is available toward higher education at an institution of applicant’s choice.
  2. Payment will be made directly to an accredited college or university based upon receipt of a tuition/enrollment billing from the institution.
  3. The Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association Scholarship is a one-year scholarship. It is limited to one per recipient, per year. Scholarship winnings will not be held or rolled over for students taking a year off school for any reason.
  4. Applicants and recipients may reapply each year.
  5. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 un-weighted GPA. Official copies of most recent transcripts (high school and/or applicable college)must accompany this application.
  6. Attach two letters of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, professor, employer, or other unrelated person who is familiar with your potential and successes. One of the recommendations must come from an academic teacher or school counselor. If you do not include letters of recommendation, your application will not be considered. Please do not use family members for your recommendation.
  7. A copy of your updated one-pageresume must accompany this application. Please remember to list all work experience, community involvement, awards, honors, school offices, special activities, and any other pertinent information on your resume.
  8. Please provide typed responses to the four essay prompts and include with application. Each essay needs to be 250 words or less.
  9. Return this application to the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association for verification of Association Membership.

Deadline

The deadline for the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association Scholarship Application is February 23, 2018. The application must be received in the Idaho-Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Office no later than February 23, 2018, for eligibility. Any applications received after February 23, 2018, will be disqualified.

Scholarship recipients will be announced by May 1, 2018.
