Dear Parents/Guardians,

I havetalked to the classes about these topics as I do every year.

-Kids have chosen the friends that they stay with. They will be in a room with 3 to 6(Same sex, no adult in the room. Choose your room mates wisely.)

-Boys are NOT allowed in girls rooms girls are NOT allowed in boys rooms….period!

-Room check is at 9:15-9:30 p.m. I tell them what to prepare for the next day and that lights should be out by 11 p.m.

-After the room check, I put a piece of tape across the outside of the door. If the tape is off when I check later in the evening or in the morning they will be going home a.s.a.p.

-The kidswill have my phone # and room # to call in an emergency as well as the room #’s of the chaperones, which is the phone # as well.

-Chaperones are assigned 5 to 6 students each. Their main responsibility will be attendance taking when we board the bus, keeping their group together when we are going into the B.C. Museum, Robert Bateman Exhibit, Imax Theatre, walking to the Spaghetti Factory and for taking attendance each time we gather boarding the bus and any other times necessary.

-On the ferry, students can walk around on their own without a chaperone. They have been talked to repeatedly by me since grade 7 about manners and behavior when in public. (ie. NO horsing around.)

-My talks have included the upper deck and the fact that all that is keeping them from going over is a railing. (ie. No horsing around).

-They wear their regular clothes day 1, day 2they wear their band uniform and later in the day can change if they wish.

-Kids need to bring personaltoiletries for themselves. Soap, shampoo, towels and bedding will be provided by the hotel.

-Food and or snackscan be brought in a small backpack.

-Lunch can be bought on the ferry or a bag lunch brought in theirback pack.

-If Kids choose to buy lunch on the boat and breakfast the next morning and lunch again on the boat home…they will need about $30.

-After our ferry ride we are visiting several places and at all places they will be with their chaperones.

-We are eating dinner at the Spaghetti Factory as indicated on the Itinerary.

-After dinner and checking into our hotel, kids may go to the mall across the street (Mayfair Mall). Chaperones will be in the mall and some will remain at the hotel. The kids will be walking to the mall across the street in groups.

-All School District permission forms are with me. This includes medical information and phone numbers that you have written down.

-Another teacherand Iare the teacher chaperones.

-I don’t give out chaperone cell phone #’s

-Kids are welcome to bring cell phones. However, must be off when we are performing.
