DEMOLITION AND/OR HOUSE MOVING PERMIT

(This form has to besigned by owner/agent before any work can be done to the property. If agent for the property, please include a written statement signed by the owner of the property.)

Whether it is a Demo or House Moving permit, ALL structures on the property have to be removed, including: sheds, garages, pools, pilings and debris.

By signing this form, the property owner/agent will agree that before any work begins on the property the following will be completed:

1-Water & Sewer Taps: Maintenance of the location of water & sewer taps is the responsibility of the owner of the property and/or the contractor of the project. The location shall be marked and remain accessible until town water service is restored to the property. Water and Sewer lines must be capped at the property line. Town must verify the caps have been installed and meter removed.Please call for an inspection before beginning the job (910-458-8291).

2-All utilities have been properly disconnected.

3-Stabilize the ingress/egress area to prevent sediment from leaving the lot.

4-Unless there will be construction within 60 days, the lot is required to be graded, seeded and strawed to prevent erosion.

5-Demolition:Prior to issuance of a Building permit, the owner and/or contractor must provide a letter from an accredited asbestos removal professional stating that all asbestos has been properly disposed of and provide us with a receipt from an approved landfill.

6-House Moving: Prior to moving any structure, the owner and/or contractor must secure authorization from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC-DOT) to travel along LakePark Boulevard (US Hwy. 421), Ocean Blvd. or Dow Road.

7-48 hours prior to moving any structure, the owner and/or contractor must coordinate with Carolina Beach Police Department administrative staff to have approved the time and route of travel over any road within the Town of Carolina Beach. The owner and or contractor shall be responsible for providing at least two escort vehicles and personnel to accompany the structure’s movement along public streets. Officers are available for contract employment in the event the owner/contractor cannot provide their own escort personnel. A minimum of 72 hours notice is required for contract officers.
