UNIVERSAL STUDIOS AND ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE FIRST AID INFORMATION:

  • Calling before 407-363-8000, dial 0 and ask to be transferred to the Main Health Service area.
  • Upon arrival to the Park, the group leader or chaperone should stop at the Main Health Service Office to check in and fill out a form. You can also leave any medical forms for the group at the Health Service office for the day. You can leave them any cell numbers at that time also. They will also give you a specific number to call for your group. If going to both parks, someone CAN check in at both parks (although not mandatory).

Location of the Health Service Office:

  • Universal Studios - Located at Family Services, located near the Studio Audience Center. The main Health Services station is located on Canal St. between the New York St. Set & the San Francisco St. Set, across from Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue (407-363-8310).
  • Islands of Adventure - Located inside the Guest Svcs Lobby, to right of main entrance turnstiles. The main Health Services station is in Sindbad's Village in The Lost Continent. Look for the Red Cross across from Oasis Coolers.(407-224-4228).

Wheelchair Rentals:
Guests can rent strollers, wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles upon entrance to both parks and to the left side of each park's entrance. Manual wheelchairs are also available at the Rotunda area of the parking structure. ECV Rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest you place a request at least 1 week prior to your arrival in advance through Guest Services as a limited number of ECV's are available at each park, each day. Requests can be made by calling (407) 224-4233. The rental fees are:

  • Wheelchairs: $12.00 per day tax inclusive (+ $50.00 deposit & signed rental contract required)
  • Electronic Convenience Vehicles: $50.00 per day tax inclusive (+ $50.00 deposit & signed rental contract required)

Locker Rentals:
Lockers are available within each of the theme parks for guest rental for $8.00 per day, with family size lockers available at Universal Studios Florida for $10.00 per day. Guests have unlimited access to these lockers during the course of the day. Additional lockers are available at Islands of Adventure for $2.00 per hour, with a $14.00 per day maximum. These lockers are available at the entrance of the following attractions: Incredible Hulk Coaster®, Dueling Dragons®, Jurassic Park River Adventure®, Revenge of the Mummy® and Men in Black®. NOTE: The lockers at the Incredible Hulk Coaster and Dueling Dragons are free for at least the first 45 minutes (time may vary - check with the individual attractions for specific length of time).

Acceptable IDs

Identity Matters

Adult passengers (18 and over) are required to show a valid U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID in order to be allowed to go through the checkpoint and onto their flight.

We understand passengers occasionally arrive at the airport without an ID, due to lost items or inadvertently leaving them at home. Not having an ID does not necessarily mean a passenger won't be allowed to fly. If passengers are willing to provide additional information, we have other means of substantiating someone's identity, like using publicly available databases.

Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint or onto an airplane.

Acceptable IDs include:

  • U.S. passport
  • U.S. passport card
  • DHS "Trusted Traveler" cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
  • U.S. Military ID (active duty or retired military and their dependents, and DOD civilians)
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Border Crossing Card
  • DHS-designated enhanced driver's license
  • Driver's Licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)
  • Native American Tribal Photo ID
  • HSPD-12 PIV Card
  • An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan)
  • A foreign government-issued passport
  • Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards. Those who do not should be carrying their passports while visiting the U.S.

This standardization of the list of accepted documents better aligns TSA with other DHS components, including Customs and Border Protection, and REAL ID benchmarks.

Q. Can I fly with an expired ID?
A. If you lose your primary ID or it has expired, TSA may accept other forms of ID to help verify your identity.

Q. If I lose my ID during travel, what secondary forms of ID will be accepted?
A. Passengers who do not have a valid photo ID, such as State-issued driver’s license, should bring any ID or documents they have available to assist in verification of identity. Passengers need at least two alternate forms of identification, such as a social security card, birth certificate, marriage license, or credit card.The documents must bear the name of the passenger.Also, one of these documents must bear identification information containing one of the following: date of birth, gender, address, or photo.If TSA can confirm the passenger’s identity, they may enter the secured area, but they could be subject to additional screening. Q. What ID is needed for minors traveling domestically/internationally?
A. Minor children (younger than 18) are not required to provide an ID at the airport security checkpoint.They will just need their boarding pass. All passengers, including children, on international flights are required to have a passport in their possession.

Q. Can I use my birth certificate and social security card to fly, if necessary?
A. Adult passengers are required to show a valid U.S. Federal or State-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license. Review theID Requirements for Airport Checkpointsfor a list of acceptable IDs. If you do not have this type of ID, TSA can accept other forms of ID to help verify your identity, including your birth certificate and social security card.

A. IDs with a hole punched through the expiration date are considered expired.

For the convenience of our guests with special dietary needs, we have chefs in residence at each of our full-service restaurants (Lombard’s Seafood Grille and Finnegan’s Bar & Grill in Universal Studios Florida®, and Mythos Restaurant® and Confisco Grille® in Universal’s Islands of Adventure®) who can create meals customized to suit individual tastes and needs. In addition, the managers at any of our quick-service restaurants can assist with specific menu questions to help you select appropriate items during your visit.
For the convenience of our guests with gluten allergies, Monsters Café in Universal Studios Florida®, and the Thunder Falls Terrace in Islands of Adventure®, offer the following gluten-free options: roasted chicken; smoked chicken; smoked ribs; smoked turkey legs; roasted potatoes with onions, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper; roasted corn; baked potatoes; french fries cooked in canola oil; and salads.
In addition, our full-service restaurants serve gluten-free pasta, and food carts throughout the parks serve apples, oranges, grapes, watermelon slices. The lemon slush drinks and turkey legs available throughout the parks are also gluten-free.

Key Travel Tips(

BEFORE YOU GO: Pack Smart

Carry-on baggage is a small piece of luggage you take onboard the airplane with you. You are allowed one carry-on in addition to one personal item such as a laptop computer, purse, small backpack & briefcase or camera case. These items will go through the security screening process. Please LABEL your laptop with a business card or other identifying information beneath your laptop to avoid loss or the accidental "exchange" by travelers.

Checked Baggage is luggage you check in at the ticket counter or at the curbside. It will not be accessible during your flight. Please refrain from locking your checked baggage or use one of ourAccepted and Recognizedlocks. If your baggage alarms and our Security Officers cannot gain access to your checked bag, unrecognized lock may be broken.

DO NOT pack the following items in your checked baggage:

  • Lighters are prohibited from all checked baggage
  • Jewelry, Cash or fragile items (no matter how they are protected)
  • Laptop computers and other electronics
  • Film – security screening equipment will damage it

Tips for carry-on and checked baggage:

  • Do NOT pack or bring prohibited items to the airport.
  • You are now allowed to carry travel-size toiletries (3.4 ounces or less) in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, sealable bag through security checkpoints. ONE PER PERSON – NO GALLON BAGS
  • Put all undeveloped film and cameras with film in your carry-on baggage. If your bag will pass through the X-ray machine more than five times ask for a hand inspection to prevent damage.
  • Consider putting personal belongings in clear plastic bags to reduce the chance that a Security Officer will have to handle them.
  • Wait to wrap your gifts. Be aware that wrapped gifts may need to be opened for inspection. This applies to both carry-on and checked baggage.

Tips for packing your checked baggage:

  • Pack shoes, boots, sneakers and other footwear on top of other contents in your luggage.
  • Avoid over-packing your bag allowing the Security Officer to easily reseal your bag if it is opened for inspection. If possible, spread your contents over several bags.(This can also help avoid any fees for overweight baggage).
  • Avoid packing food and drink items.
  • Don't stack piles of books or documents on top of each other; spread them out within your baggage.

Following these tips will help you reduce your wait time at the security checkpoint.

Before the Airport:

  • Do not pack or bring Prohibited Items to the airport.
  • Pack travel-size containers less than 3.4 ounces comfortably in one, quart-size plastic, zip-top bag. ONE PER PERSON – NO GALLON BAGS
  • Place valuables such as jewelry, cash and laptop computers in carry-on baggage only. Tape your business card to the bottom of your laptop.
  • Avoid wearing clothing, jewelry and accessories that contain metal. Metal items may set off the alarm on the metal detector.
  • All types of footwear are required to be removed and placed through the X-ray machine for screening.
  • Put all undeveloped film and cameras with film in your carry-on baggage. Checked baggage screening equipment will damage undeveloped film.
  • Declare firearms & ammunition to your airline and place them in your checked baggage.
  • If you wish to lock your baggage, use a TSA-recognized lock .
  • Do not bring prohibited lighters or matches to the airport.
  • Do not pack wrapped gifts and do not bring wrapped gifts to the checkpoint. Wrap on arrival or ship your gifts prior to your departure. TSA may have to unwrap packages for security reasons.

At the Airport:

Travel Tips To Make Your Screening Experience Hassle-free

  • The secret to getting through security smoothly is to de-clutter your carry-on bag. This lets our Transportation Security Officers get a clear, uncomplicated X-ray image of your carry-on.
  • When possible, keep packing liquids in checked baggage. You will get through security faster.
  • Limit quantities to what is needed for the duration of the flight.

We encourage each adult traveler to keep his/her airline boarding pass and government-issued photo ID available until exiting the security checkpoint. The absence of proper identification will result in additional screening.

  • You are now allowed to carry travel-size toiletries (3.4 ounces or less) in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, sealable bag through security checkpoints. ONE PER PERSON – NO GALLON BAGS
  • In addition, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board the aircraft.
  • Place the following items IN your carry-on baggage or in a plastic bag prior to entering the screening checkpoint:
  • Mobile phones
  • Keys
  • Loose change/Money clips
  • PDA's (personal data assistants)
  • Large amounts of jewelry
  • E-Cigarettes
  • Metal hair decorations
  • Large belt buckles
  • Take your laptop and video cameras with cassettes OUT of their cases and place them in a bin provided at the checkpoint.
  • Take OFF all outer coats, suit coats, jackets and blazers.

Important Information For Our Travelers with Disabilities and Medical Conditions:

We are continuing to permit prescription liquid medications and other liquids needed by persons with disabilities and medical conditions. This includes:

  • All prescription and over-the-counter medications(liquids, gels, and aerosols) including KY jelly, eye drops, and saline solution for medical purposes;
  • Liquids including water, juice, or liquid nutrition or gels for passengers with a disability or medical condition;
  • Life-support and life-sustaining liquids such as bone marrow, blood products, and transplant organs;
  • Items used to augment the body for medical or cosmetic reasons such as mastectomy products, prosthetic breasts, bras or shells containing gels, saline solution, or other liquids; and,
  • Gels or frozen liquids needed to cool disability or medically related items used by persons with disabilities or medical conditions.

However, if the liquid medications are in volumes larger than 3.4 ozs each, they may not be placed in the quart-size bag and must be declared to a Transportation Security Officer. A declaration can be made verbally, in writing, or by a person’s companion, caregiver, interpreter, or family member.

Our checkpoint security screening procedures for persons with disabilities, medical conditions, and the mature have not changed as a result of the current threat situation.All disability-related equipment, aids, and devices continue to be allowed through security checkpoints once cleared through screening.Disability and medically related items permitted beyond the checkpoint include:
