Join us for a fun-filled weekend celebration for women/adults ages 21+ where you’ll be pampered, enjoy creative activities, share stimulating conversation, enjoy the entertainment, dine in our fabulous dining hall, and meet interesting adults from all walks of life. We guarantee a stress free weekend and promise you’ll return home refreshed and renewed!

How do you Register?

Complete the enclosed registration form. Choose your workshops, your unit preference and your buddies. Calculate your weekend fee by using the chart on the following page. Add the additional charges for your first-choice workshops, chair massages and manicures. If you need financial assistance to attend this weekend and are a registered adult Girl Scout in Washington Rock, please ask for a GAFA form to be sent to you.

Registration Information: Weekend costs are detailed on the registration form. The deadline for registrations is October 15, 2007. Confirmation packets will be mailed on September 15, 2007.

Activity Fees:Our workshop presenters need to purchase their class materials ahead of time so activity fees, if any, are due with your registration. (If the class is cancelled you will receive a refund.)

Weekend Gear:A packing list will be mailed as part of your confirmation packet. Bring bedding, towels, toiletries, a mug with your name on it, flashlight, activity supplies if needed, snacks to share for Friday evening, and a playful sense of adventure. Please bring your snacks with you to the dining hall on Friday evening to share during our Beer Tasting Extravaganza.

Meals:All meals will be served buffet style in the camp dining hall. Please bring an item to share for snack on Friday or Saturday evening. Alcohol is allowed at this all adult event. Please bring your beverage choice for Friday evening to our Beer Tasting Extravaganza. If you do not wish to stay with others who may wish to partake in an adult beverage, please note this on the registration form. Dry housing will be available. All adults should be responsible when drinking and mindful of those around.

Horseback Riding – 1A

Take a short ride to nearby Spring Valley Farms to take an hour long trail ride. All levels of riding experience can enjoy this trail ride along the PaulinskillLake. Fee - $30 Double Session

Wreaths and So Much More! – 1B

Instructor – Joanne Otlowski

Wreaths for all seasons have become a popular decorating piece in many homes. Come and spend some time with us and learn to make two simple yet pretty pieces for your home. Wreaths can easily be adapted for any season or occasion and can be made by girls ages Brownies and up. Badge links will be provided.

Napkin Basket With Color Reed Accent–1C

Instructor – Debbi Zvanut

Weave a medium size basket for your table napkins, for storage or for snacks. Natural smoked or colored reed will be used to make a square basket with a folded rim. Perfect for beginners or those with experience. Bring old scissors or garden sheers, measuring tape, flat head screw driver, 12 spring clothes pins, basin/bucket and old towel. Fee - $8 Double Session

Knots to Wear – 1D

Instructor – Rose Norrish

Learn how some knots can be made into very attractive jewelry and not for camping but for wearing! Bring two bandanas and a pair of scissors. See how to make earrings, friendship knots, a monkey’s fist and more.

Finance for Women – 1F

Unravel the mystery of wills and trusts, investments, saving money on taxes, planning for college expenses and for retirement! Other subjects will be discussed.

Session 2

Yoga – 2A

Yoga is the practice of entering the sanctuary of the body to quiet the restlessness of the mind. It is an experience of using asanas (postures) to go inward and discover what blocks us from living joyfully and in alignment with the body’s natural rhythms. Wear comfortable clothing. Come and rejuvenate!

Travel Doo-Dads Scrapbooking – 2B

Whether you are an avid scrapper or just want to get those photos in albums, this is a workshop that will help you do jus that. The 15 page enhancements we will create wil complement any travel experience. Girl Scout Camp, a trip to Europe or the beat. All materials will be supplied to get the job done. Fee - $10

The Sweet Outdoors – 2C

Sick of S'mores? Bored with Banana Boats? Learn to make some new campfire desserts that will tantalize your taste buds.

Silk Screening – 2D

Instructor – Mary Jean Parmellee

Learn how to make your own screen. The art of silk screening and embellishing Participants will have the chance to design and develop their own screens and practice screening on fabric. Bring your own shirt or something cotton or purchase one through the Trading Post for $4.00.

Team Challenge – 2E

Instructor – Mary Clancy

Join together with other Girl Scout adults to learn team challenge and cooperative games and activities to share with your girls. Learn to teach girls fairness, leadership and fun in the spirit of teamwork and friendship.

Origami – 2F

Instructor – Joanne and Mary Otlowski

Learn the ancient Japanese art of paper folding using decorative paper. Learn to make animals stars and so much more. Items can be used at troop meetings to make decorations for special occasions; Christmas tree ornaments; toppings for gift packages, etc. No special talent is needed, except having fun! Badge links will be provided for Brownie and Junior levels. Fee - $3

Session 3

Canoe/Nature Hike – 3A

Increase your canoeing skills as you paddle to the other side of the lake for a nature hike. Beginner canoers welcomed! Double session.

Tantalizing Treats – 3B

Instructor – Deb Hooker

During this hour and half spend time creating delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts that can be shared with all before and after dinner. Stuffed mushrooms, artichoke dip, cheese puffs, chocolate covered strawberries, and more! All participants will receive copies of the recipes.

Ropes Course Instructor – 3C

Instructors – Alison Taylor

This course is a great way to help the girls take risks, build self-esteem and improve teamwork. This training qualifies you to lead your troop at the Camp Hoover Challenge Course. Dress comfortably, warmly and wear boots. Double Session

Stamping Class – 3D

Instructor – Cyndy Ponczek

Want to learn more in-depth stamping techniques then just stamping cards and scrap booking? This is the class for you! At this class you will take your stamping abilities above and beyond! This class you will make an accordion album to put your treasured photos in. Everyone will want you to make one for them too! Please bring: 12” paper cutter with scoring blade, paper snips, bone folder, & adhesive if you have it. Fee $10

Good, Clean Fun! – 3E

Instructor –Chris Carswell

Soap designing is easy and fun. All you need is a microwave, some soap or glycerin, molds, colors and smells. Come use your creativity to make some soap to match your bathroom or t use as a gift. We will have a variety of shapes – animals, sports, flowers, etc. Fee $5

“Paper” Album Kits – 3F

Bring several pictures to complete this mini album or pre-decorate the album and add pictures at a later date. This 6 ½ by 6 ½ mini album is a great way to make a keep sake or to give as a gift. All material provided. Fee - $15

Origami – 3G

Ever wonder how paper cranes are folded? Come and learn the art of Japanese paper folding. You’ll make a crane and several other projects. Paper provided. Fee - $3

Bamboo Shovel – 4A

Instructor – Dot Hooker

Try your creativity by making a Bamboo Shovel door or wall decoration. A variety of materials will be provided and this decoration can be used for the holidays or the winter season. Fee - $12

Silly and Fun Songs– 4B

Do you ever wonder where the girls in your troop learn those new Girl Scout songs? You will learn a mixture of silly, action and more traditional Girl Scout songs. You may bring a battery-powered tape – recorder to tape the session.

Woven Heart Ornament – 4C

Instructor – Debbi Zvanut

Use beautiful strips of cherry, walnut or ash to create a beautiful woven heart – for the holidays, Valentine’s Day or just to decorate. Perfect for Juniors or older girls. Bring measuring tape, sharp craft shears, and 10 spring clothes pins. Fee - $5

Pilates – 4D

The Pilates method is a system designed to lengthen muscles as it strengthens them, with an emphasis on muscular movement initiation. While improving balance, posture, coordination, strength, flexibility, and balance, it is an effective way to rehabilitate injuries and chronic pain. Wear comfortable clothing.

Stamping Class -4E

This is your chance to become creative! Learn the basic techniques of decorating a cake using piping, adding borders, adding icing pearls and more.

Looking for a little extra pampering? Professional massages are available in 10 minute increments for $10. Massage appointment times will be reserved as they are received and prepayment must accompany your registration to ensure accommodation. This may overlap with a workshop.

Do your hands and nails need a little extra attention? Manicures are available for $11. Manicure appointment times will be reserved as they are received and prepayment must accompany your registration to ensure accommodation. This may overlap with a workshop.

Free Time 5:15 – 6:15

Relax. Read a book. Take a walk. Spend time in the Nature cabin or looking at memorabilia. Play a board game. Or just spend some time catching up with old and new friends!
