GP Update for Patients
Firstly can I begin by apologising on behalf of the partners in relation to the fewer number of regular GPs that have been available in recent weeks and to thank you for your understanding during this period?
As you may know Dr Mark Durling was taken ill on Thursday 15thSeptember 2016 and although is return is expected in mid to late November this was unexpected and we have had to make contingency plans accordingly.
GP Changes
The practice is owned by GP Partners and we have been recruiting to these positionssince Dr Panniker and Dr Boldy retired earlier this year.
I am pleased to confirm that on her Dr Katie Porter has returned from Maternity Leave and has become a partner in the practice effective from 1st October 2016. She has been joined as a partner by Dr Shelley Jackson who started formally with us in January 2016 following Dr Panniker’s retirement although she had been working with us on Care Planning for some time.
They join the existing partners of Dr Mark Durling and Dr James Moody who you all know.
At a time when many practices are struggling to recruit both to partner roles and to salaried GP roles it is very pleasing to note that we have been very fortunate to be able to recruit to all the vacant sessions the above changes and recent retirements have created.
Dr Robin Meakin who has worked in a temporary capacity since December 2015 will directly replace Dr Katie Porter in her salaried GP role and has been joined by Dr Sara-Louise Wylie and Dr Jo Hazell.
The sessional commitments and working days is detailed on the attached appendices.
