GP Partner required for city centre practice
Dundee is located on the beautiful Tay estuary, on the East coast of Scotland, a youthful vibrant city (due to its two universities) it is a great place to stay,with many large and attractive,yet reasonably priced properties available.
Dundee has all the amenities of a city without the bad traffic jams many other major UK cities endure and Nethergate Medical Centre is right in the heart of our city.
Due to a partner re location we are looking for an additional GP to join our friendly city centre practice in Dundee.
We have a high number of student patients due to location (we are in closeproximity to both the city’s Universities and student accommodation). As a result of our high student population we enjoy low home visiting rates.
Our experienced partners and practice nurses are already providing various enhanced services such as minor surgery, contraceptive services and chronic disease management to our practice population of around 9000 and maximising income.
We are well placed to support a newly qualified GP. We already support student doctors and doctors in training. We can allow you room and support in developing and enhancing your skills in which ever direction you wish to go.
There is no “buy in” as we work from leased premises and you will start on full parity whatever stage in your career you are at-newbie or experienced GP.
The practice currently requires GP partner cover for Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays we are offering 6- 8 sessions and there would be flexibility in the other day of work for an 8 session partner.
Our city is an exciting place to live at present, having recently attractedmajor government investment with the most expensive urban redevelopmentin the UK currently under way-the newwaterfront V&A museum isbeing built here.
Dundee is also a recognisedcentre of excellence for bioscience with institutes such as The Welcome Trustand Ninewells Medical School attracting world renowned doctors and research scientists’.
We have easy access to Edinburgh (1hr by car)and Glasgow (under 2hrs by car). Good rail links and a small city airport. London city can be reached in an hour by plane or 6hrs by train.
The Scottish mountain ranges,lochs and ski centre’s are on our doorstep (Glenshee can be reached in under an hour and a half).
As a partner in our practice you can enjoy, 6 weeks annual leave and public holidays as well as weekends free to enjoy the mountains (if you want!) and there is one week of study leave a year and protected time for administration work in practice
A golden hello is also available -a one off payment of £10,000 payable directly to you from NHS Tayside (eligibility criteria to be met).
