2016 LINK SUPPORT PROGRAM (Year 9 to Year 12)
LINK Support Program Year 9 to Year 12 (Secondary and Special Schools). Funds are available to support a number of programs for students with disabilities in regular or support classes in mainstream or in special schools.
Program Description: These funds support programs that are related to goals identified in transition planning to meet student learning and support needs.
Targeted Student Group: Students with disabilities in Year 9 to Year 12 in regular or support classes in mainstream or in special schools.
Students undertaking workplace learning programs should be participating in the school’s overall School to Work Program. The currentWorkplace Learning Handbook supports this program and should be consulted where students will engage in:
- The Job Coach Program for students in individual worksites
- The Work Crew Program which supports 4 and 5 students at the same work experience site.
In addition this program supports:
- The Community Program for skills training
- The Exit Program for school leavers linked to an identified service provider.
These programs are delivered external to the school but are developed and monitored by school personnel. This funding does not support HSC VET courses. Please apply through HSC Vet Funding for these programs.
Please note that funding is only to be used for salaries of teachers and/or school learning support officers.
The Expression of Interest form should be completed by Friday 23October 2015 and returned to the appropriate Learning and Wellbeing Advisor.

Application Process
Step 1:
Identify the learning and support needs of a student or group of students.
Step 2:
The Learning and Support Team ensures that:
- Students/s meet the Department of Education’s Disability Criteria and have a current Disability Confirmation Sheet (DCS)
- Using available resources, no further accommodations can be made by the school. Accommodations may include the way that lessons or staffing are organised, how teaching or support for the student is carried out, or the way the teacher/s can be supported
- The input of students, parents or carers, and where relevant, health professionals has been sought and their recommendations considered.
Step 3:
Complete the application form attached.
Step 4:
Principal verifies the information as a true and accurate record of the school’s request and that the students are eligible for the program.
Step 5:
The Expression of Interest is forwarded to your school’s Learning and Wellbeing Advisor by Friday 23October 2015.
