"Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship.This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.Interested students can visit this link and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page and click on it.The deadline for both scholarships is June 1, 2015.

"Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program. This is the 4th year we are awarding this scholarship for AnimationCareerReview.com. We are offering high school seniors the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship.This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship This scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in engineering. Applicant will complete and mail their own application. A scholarship can be downloaded from the above link. You are eligible to apply to the St. Clair Chapter's scholarship offering. It is located at the bottom of the page next to Mr. Jason G. Schreckenberg name. Other scholarship considerations found on this page may or may not be available to you in the future.

MCL Prairie Land Leathernecks - Two $500 grants will be awarded at the Prairie Land Leathernecks meeting on August 6, 2015. Applicant must have a Marine Corp ZLeague Detachment 1385 Member as a sponsor as ONE of the qualifiers for this grant. Please see the PDF copy of the Grant Application for more information.

C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation’s CSBG Scholarship The CSBG Scholarship is designed, in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, to provide financial assistance to low-income and disadvantaged persons. Scholarships will go toward providing formal education or occupational training in an accredited Illinois educational institution to CSBG eligible clients, with particular consideration given to study in high technology areas or other growth occupations. Education and training made possible through the scholarships include either general education to achieve short-term training (2 years or less) in growth occupation skills, or post-secondary education. All applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) in an Illinois accredited college. This is a competitive scholarship based on merit, not solely on financial need. If the scholarship money is used to pay tuition fees and you withdrawal from classes and receive a refund, the money must be refunded to C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation.

Faith in Life Essay Contest Each year the Greater Hillsboro Ministerial Fellowship offers a grant to someone(s) who submits a "Faith in Life" essay. The topic of this paper is to be the positive impact ones faith has had upon their life. This may be in essay form, a poem, a song, or any other format you choose. In the past, typical entries have been one to two pages in length. Your entry must be submitted by no later than Friday, May8th (to the High School Counselor’s Office) or Sunday, May 10th (to Pastor Matt Ferguson). If you are turning it in to Pastor Matt Ferguson, who oversees this project for the local churches, you may email him a copy at .

Montgomery Veterans Task Force Education Grant The Montgomery Veterans Task Force Educaiton Grant will be awarded to a student from each of the four school districts in Montgomery County. It is a $500 cash grant to be used for any form of post-secondary education, and is not limited to the pursuit of traditional higher education. All Students with at least a "C" average and household income under $70K are eligible to apply for this grant. Priority will be given to students with Veterans as immediate family members. Applicant will be asked to return application to the Montgomery Veterans Task Force at 201 S. Main St., Hillsboro, IL 62049 by May 8, 2015.

Hillsboro Area Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Program The Scholarship and Grant Program of the Hillsboro Area Hospital Auxiliary is designed to give financial aid to persons who will train in the healthcare field. The Auxiliary administers three separate awards to serve this purpose: the Mae Seward Sorrells Nursing Scholarship, the Montgomery County Health Improvement Scholarship and the Hillsboro Area Hospital Scholarship. Graduating seniors need to be aware that the Montgomery County Health Improvement Scholarship are only for students entering their second year of college in a nursing program. Applicant must mail scholarship application with all supporting documentation in one envelope to Sue White, 380 Lakecrest Trail, Hillsboro, IL 62049 by May 4, 2015.

Hillsboro FFA Alumni Scholarship The Hillsboro FFA Alumni has established a scholarship to assist Hillsboro FFA seniors pursue a degree in a post-secondary institution. Application is due in the counselor's office by April 3, 2015.

Gerald P. Huber Academic Scholarship This $500 scholarship for tuition and fees is awarded to individuals planning to continue their education at the collegiate level. This scholarship has been established by family and friends in memory of Gerald Patrick Huber. Mr. Huber, a highly respected attorney, was very active in civic events within our community. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has exhibited academic excellence, leadership qualities, future aspirations, a good work ethic and community service. Application is due in HHS counselor's office by April 17, 2015.

Eunice May Russell Democratic Scholarship The Montgomery County Democrat Central Committee is awarding a $1000 scholarship, named the Eunice May Russell Democratic Scholarship, to a senior graduating from one of the Montgomery County High Schools (Hillsboro, Lincolnwood, Litchfield, and Nokomis) in the Spring of 2014. Criteria is listed on the informational sheet. Applications may be mailed to Judy Keith Dalhaus, 716 North Jefferson Street, P. O. Box 414, Litchfield, Illinois62056.Deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, April 17, 2015.

The Central Illinois Livestock Associations (CILA) established a scholarship to assist youth in pursuing a degree in a post-secondary institution. Applicants must be a relative of an IBA and CILA member and be a graduating senior from one of the Montgomery County high schools. Students are responsible for mailing applications to the CILA Scholarship Committee by May 1, 2015.

Kenneth & Jean Lewey Trust Scholarship This scholarship is being offered to students who will be attending a two or four year institution of higher learning located in Illinois and who will pursue a related degree in agriculture or home economics. Careers in home economics might include dietician, culinary arts, interior design, and fashion design. Ag related careers may include diesel mechanics, biology, and conservation. Two scholarships of up to $2500 each will be awarded to graduates from a high school in Montgomery County, IL. Scholarships will be renewable for up to 3 additional years based upon proof of satisfactory academic progress. Applicant must submit their scholarship application to the Kenneth & Jean Lewey Trust, P.O. Box 188, Hillsboro, IL 62049 with a postmark that is no later than April 11, 2014.

NEW CANDIDATES ARE ASKED TO APPLY TO THE Erik Paul Westerman Memorial Scholarship This scholarship has been edited to include a wider range of future careers. Any automotive, computer or engineer related career field will be considered for this $1000 scholarship. The original description is posted here: "These scholarships are awarded annually in memory of Erik Paul Westerman, a 1998 Hillsboro High School graduate, to deserving students who exhibit an interest in computer graphics/art and or high-end automotive technological education." The NEW application deadline is April 23, 2015. Applicants are asked to deliver complete applications materials to the counselor office.

Rotary Club of Hillsboro ScholarshipThe applicant must be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student at an accredited school pursuing a degree or a vocational certification. Affiliation with the Rotary Club is not required and has no bearing on the eventual scholarship selection. Application needs to be submitted to HHS counseling office by May 1, 2015.

H.U.E.A. Scholarship Scholarships will be given to a high school seniors who are the son/daughter of a H.U.E.A. member. More than two $500 scholarships may be offered if funds

Scottish Rite Scholarships(Masonic Lodge) You will find a variety of scholarships at this website, including scholarships for health care related careers, Masonic affiliation, and scholarships for anyone. Scholarships must be received by April 1, 2015.

Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce ScholarshipThe Chamber of Commerce will be offering two $500 scholarship to qualified 2015 graduates who will be attending an accredited school. Students must submit applications to Chamber of Commerce by April 1, 2015.

Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce Food and Agribusiness Scholarship The agribusiness Committee established the Food and Agribusiness Career Scholarship to assist youth in Montgomery County pursuing a degree and career in agricultural industries. The committee will award one (1) $1000 scholarship to a qualified FFA member and one (1) $1000 scholarship to a qualified 4-H member during the spring semester of the students' high school senior year. Students must submit applications to Chamber of Commerce by April 1, 2015.

Louis & Temple Marsch Scholarship This scholarship is for graduating seniors that are pursuing a college degree in engineering or a scientific field. Priority will be given to applicants in the engineering field and related science fields. Students are responsible for mailing their own applications. Applicants are responsible Scholarship application must be received by the Louis & Temple Marsch Charitable trust committee by April 1st.

Eastern Star ScholarshipThe Herman Chapter #95 is offering a $500 scholarship to a family member of the Order of Eastern Star. Applicants must be a graduating seniors of Hillsboro High School and be pursuing a college education or vocational training. Application needs to be submitted to HHS counseling office by March 31, 2015.

Charles R. Kiefer Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded through the Foundation by the Paul and Julie Kiefer Family to honor the memory of their son, Charles R. Kiefer a student at Beckemeyer School.Charles Kiefer would be a 2015 graduate.The recipient must be enrolled or accepted as a student at an accredited post-secondary school with the intent of studying in Agriculture or Ag related areas, Engineering or Medical field.Scholarship is due in the Hillsboro High School counseling office by March 31, 2015.

Jesse Goldsmith Memorial Scholarship This $1000.00 scholarship has been established by the co-workers and friends of Jesse W. Goldsmith at the Vernon Hills Police Department located in Lake County, Illinois. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving MALE and FEMALE student who wishes to pursue higher education in Illinois in any field. Application is due in HHS counselor's office by March 31, 2015.

Pat Fuehne Academic Scholarship This $500 scholarship for tuition and fees is awarded to individuals planning to continue their education at the collegiate level. The goal of this scholarship is to recognize and honor those students who have committed to taking advanced classes throughout their time in the Hillsboro School District. This scholarship was established by Bob Fuehne and family in memory of Mrs. Pat Fuehne. Mrs. Fuehne was a Hillsboro School District teacher in the gifted education program for many years. Application is due in HHS counselor's office by March 31, 2015.

Leanne R. Harpole Memorial Scholarship This $500.00 Teacher Education Scholarship award is presented annually to a deserving Hillsboro High School senior. Betty and Bill Harpole have generously established this scholarship to honor their late daughter, Leanne R. Harpole, who graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a degree in Psychology. Application needs to be submitted to HHS counseling office by March 31, 2015.

Erik Paul Westerman Memorial Scholarship These scholarships are awarded annually in memory of Erik Paul Westerman, a 1998 Hillsboro High School graduate, to deserving students who exhibit an interest in computer graphics/art and or high-end automotive technological education. Application is due in HHS counselor's office by March 31, 2015.

Betty and Ida Baumann Nursing Scholarship This annual scholarship has been established as a tribute to Betty and Ida Baumann for deserving Hillsboro High School students who wish to enter the field of nursing. Betty Baumann was very active in community affairs, especially with activities of the Hillsboro Hospital Auxiliary. These annual scholarships for tuition and fees will be awarded to individuals planning to embark upon a career of nursing. Four or more scholarships will be available in 2015. This scholarship may be used for two, three, or four year programs. The scholarship is renewable upon written application to the counselor's office at Hillsboro High School. Students wishing to renew the application for subsequent years must contact the Hillsboro High School counselor's office for the application. Application is due in HHS counselor's office by March 31, 2015.

Joan and Bernard Rappe' Memorial Scholarship This $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Hillsboro High School graduate who will be entering the field of Education in honor of Joan and Bernard Rappe'. Joan Rappe' served the Hillsboro School District as a choral instructor and director at Hillsboro High School and Hillsboro Jr. High School. Mr. Bernard Rappe' was active in community civic affairs, serving as Mayor and a member of the Hillsboro City Council for many years. Mr. Rappe' served on the district steering committee to build the new Beckemeyer and Coffeen Elementary Schools. Both Joan and Bernard received Service to Mankind awards from the Hillsboro Sertoma Club for their civic activities and for their service to the community. Application needs to be submitted to HHS counseling office by March 31, 2015.

Hillsboro Educational Foundation ScholarshipScholarships ranging from $500-$1000 are presented annually to graduates of Hillsboro High School by the Educational Foundation. Funding for these scholarships is made possible by donations from alumni that are designed toward scholarships. Included in the 2013 scholarship program will be the following scholarships: Mary Ann Pretnar Memorial Scholarship; Robert Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship; DkupabaiMekala Memorial Scholarship, as well as a number of Hillsboro Educational Scholarships provided by donations from alumni. Applicants will be eligible to receive any of the scholarships named as part of the Hillsboro Educational Foundation Scholarship program. Application needs to be submitted to HHS counseling office by March 31, 2015.

Edward A. Goyak Scholarship This $1000.00 scholarship is given by Mrs. Elizabeth Goyak in honor of her late husband Edward. Mr. Goyak grew up in Taylor Springs. He graduated from Hillsboro High School. Mr. Goyak had an intense interest in government. This scholarship is designed to be awarded to an individual who wishes to study civics, government, or public affairs. Mrs. Goyak enjoys hearing from the recipient of the scholarship and is very interested in higher education for young people. Scholarship deadline is March 31, 2015.

Bob Price Memorial Scholarship Our friend, Bob Price, lost his life in a boating accident on September 30, 2012. However his spirit lives on through this scholarship as we support those who have the same passions and spirit as Bob. Bob loved the outdoors, sports, and people. He was a Master Sergeant with the Illinois State Police, District #18, a volunteer fireman and rescue diver with the Hillsboro Fire Department, and a member of the Illinois Air National Guard 183rd Fighter Wing serving four overseas tours. He enjoyed helping others and was proud to serve his country, state, and community. Application packet must be mailed by the student with a postmarked no later than March 31st of graduation year.
