Fundraising Assistant (Income processing)

Location: Park Place, 12 Lawn Lane, London, SW8 1UD

Salary: £24,000 (Pro rata)

Contract: 3 days a week (flexible working possible)

Purpose of the Job:
1. Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of income to the appropriate income codes
2. Ensuring reconciliation of all income streams to appropriate codes liaising with respective finance and fundraising staff
3. Directly responsible for responding to supporters telephone calls,
emails and mail communication efficiently ensuring high supporter satisfaction
4. Updating and maintainingorganisational database
Income processing and donor care
  • Handling all donations received and record them on Raiser’s Edge, including cheques, credit cards, direct debits, standing orders, CAF vouchers, charity cards, on-line donations etc
  • Communicating in a timely and appropriate manner with donors regarding donations
  • Producing monthly Raiser’s Edge income reports for Accounts and F&C Director
  • Record and update Gift Aid declarations against donor records on Raiser’s Edge.
  • Reconcile fundraising database with monthly income
  • Acknowledge all gifts in a timely and appropriate manner including creatingand uploading a new template onto Raiser’s Edge for each appeal
  • Respond to incoming requests (telephone/email/post) and queries from supporters on an ongoing ad hoc basis, using Feed the Minds’ standard agreed responses where appropriate and adapting as required
  • Suggest improvements of our income processing and donor care in line with best practice in the sector

Database Administration

  • Maintain and update the organisations database (Raiser’s Edge)
  • Ensure that policies, practices and business rules regarding database usage are adhered to, with particular emphasis on data protection issues
  • When requested, train other members of staff in the use of Raiser’s Edge and give advice on best practice

Administrative and team support

  • 5. Support the fundraising and communications team with administrative tasks and projects for instance:
  • Support with events planning and administration
  • Account manage and develop at least 2 Trust or Community group relationships
  • Ensure all activities are in line with the organisation’s vision, mission and values.
  • Undertake any other duties required by the Director of Fundraising and Communications Director

Person Specification

  • Highly IT literate, with previous knowledge of income reporting and databases (RE preferable but not essential)
  • Previous knowledge of independently developing administrative systems and highly developed skills in this area
  • Extremely high attention to detail
