GEELONG LIVESTOCK MARKET REPORT
The well supplied yarding of 591cattle saw values for young cattle and bullocks firm with top price realising165 cents per kilo or $1262.25 for a bullock sold on account of C. Antonio of Werribee.
Cows 3 to 5 cents dearer selling to 145.0 cents per kg.
All classes of veal were firm on last sales rates.
Steer veal (milk) selling to 170.0 cents per kg.
Steer veal (grass) selling to 175.0 cents per kg.
Heifer veal (milk) selling to 170.0 cents per kg.
Heifer veal (grass) selling to 172.0 cents per kg.
The yarding of 2654 sheep and lambs saw values for all classes of sheep $2 to $4 cheaper, shorn lambs firm, unshorn $5 cheaper and two tooth $5 to $8 dearer.
Best prime lambs sold to $110 for a draft of 24 unshorn lambs sold on account of D.W. & J.M. Jensz of Parwon , and $110 for a draft of 20 shorn lambs sold on account of C. & K. Howes of Portarlington
Other quotations: Two Tooth - $86 , Cross Bred Wethers - $85 , Cross Bred Ewes – $55 , Merino Wethers - $58.50, Merino Ewes $38.
