HIGH POINTE INN Wins Silver And gold awards for Best Mid-Cape B&B

by the Readers of Cape Cod Life Magazine

West Barnstable, MA – The readers of Cape Cod Life Magazine awarded the High Pointe Inn in West Barnstable the gold and silver status for the best bed and breakfast inn in the mid-Cape area in 2005 and 2006. Owned by seasoned innkeepers, Debbie and Rich Howard, the High Pointe Inn opened in April 2004 offering “INNspiration with a view“. The Howard’s relocated from New Hampshire’s White Mountains, where they owned an 11-room inn for many years.

Featuring three spacious ocean view suites, the High Pointe sits high on a hill overlooking Barnstable’s Great Marsh, the dunes of Sandy Neck beach, and Cape Cod Bay in the distance. A 75-foot deck spans the length of the house and serves as a gathering spot for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Rich Howard, who studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, is the inn’s resident chef. Breakfast is cooked to order from an extensive breakfast menu, and is served al fresco on the deck (weather permitting) or by candlelight in the Williamsburg tavern-inspired dining room.

With an emphasis on quiet seclusion, romance flourishes at the High Pointe Inn. Perhaps it’s the simple elegance of this beautifully decorated inn, or the ambiance created by a warm fire and the stunning view of Cape Cod Bay, but something about the Inn puts a sparkle in its guests’ eyes. For some, it’s the chance to relax and enjoy each other’s company in a setting that inspires quiet reflection. For others, it’s about all the little things the Howard‘s do to delight their guests, like binoculars in each guest room and warmed coffee mugs in the morning. For every guest, the High Pointe Inn offers “casual luxury at its finest”, according to the current edition of Fodor’s Cape Cod Travel Guide.

For a special romantic getaway try the “Two Enchanted Evenings” package at the High Pointe Inn. The two-night package includes breakfast and accommodations, a three-course dinner for two at one of Cape Cod‘s most romantic restaurants, valuable coupons for shops along scenic Route 6A, plus two complimentary inn logo coffee mugs. A selection of cordials is available in the evening. Rates start at just $365 per couple, all-inclusive. Guests can complete their stay by taking advantage of the inn’s unique in-room spa services provided by The Pampered Mermaid for an additional charge.
