Orientation to the Forum – Marilyn Golden, DREDF.
Begin presentation of substantive content of main subject areas of theForum, with discussion time, to aim participants toward same level of knowledge. This will continue in the afternoon. We need to vary the modalities enough so that it’s not all talking heads.Such as discussion, participant exercises, etc.

The challenges AVs pose for the disability community;
Can we press the industry to make AVs more accessible;
Challenges of the role of AVs in on-demand transportation,
Challenges posed by AVs in rural areas.
How can we impact bringing people with disabilities to the table—to the many tables—where this work is occurring?

Good examples of local projects between agencies to improve PROW

Rural Transportation Programs: What works and what needs improvement? Focusing on funding streams and collaborative efforts.

Basic mass transit funding in the Trump era
What actions might increase this administration’s transit funding?
How is rural America impacted?
Local ballot initiatives to raise funds for public transit
What has worked or not worked in various cities?
How can we impact bringing people with disabilities to the table—to the many tables—where this work is occurring?
Infrastructure—Topics will include:
Insufficient accessibility is pervasive in some rail systems
Public funds for transportation infrastructure, particularly rail station access;
How is rural America impacted?
What has worked or not worked in various cities?
How to make good on the president’s promises about funding an infrastructure package, and how it can benefit people with disabilities
How can we impact bringing people with disabilities to the table—to the many tables—where this work is occurring?

TNC inaccessibility and other shortcomings for people with disabilities;
TNCs as paratransit vehicles, including the TransitCenter work on this subject;
TNCs in other contracts with transit agencies (so-called partnerships) including but not limited to substituting for fixed route service in lower-density areas;
State bills & laws removing TNC regulation from local jurisdictions to the State level, & simultaneously stipulating low standards;
TNCs and the Sandbox program;
TNCs and rural transportation;
TNCs and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT);
Other aspects of TNCs and Mobility on Demand;
TNC issues for the general public;
