FAQ SHEET - OPEN AIR CINEMA (Showing Grease)

  • How do I get tickets?You can get tickets on our website

or by calling Fundraising on 01246 233404. We will then post your tickets out and also have a list of names on the door

  • How much are tickets?We are suggesting a donation amount of £10 per ticket
  • Can you buy tickets on the door?Yes, however we do have a maximum capacity of 1,000, so once we have reached this unfortunately we won’t be able to allow anyone else to enter. To ensure you get tickets, we advise booking in advance
  • Is there an age restriction?The film is rated a PG so parents must decide whether they think it is suitable for their children. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. It is discouraged that anyone under the age of 5 attends due to late finish time and that the event is held outdoors
  • Will the event still take place if it rains? Yes, please bring an umbrella.
  • Can I come in a wheelchair? The event take place on our meadow which is slightly uneven and until
  • Will there be toilets? Yes, there are portaloos on the meadow and disabled toilets are located in the main hospice building
  • Can I bring my dog? No, we do not advise bringing dogs to this event as they may disrupt the guests watching the film
  • Where is it being held? On Ashgate Hospicecare’s Meadow, at Ashgate Hospicecare, Old Brampton, Chesterfield, S42 7JD
  • Will there be chairs?Yes there will be a limited amount of chairs available; these will be filled on a first come first serve basis. We recommend bringing a camping chair or picnic blanket
  • Can we dress up? Yes definitely, the film is Grease so dressing up to the theme is encouraged
  • Can we bring our own food and drink?Yes, however there will be a bar, ice-cream van, candy floss and otherfood stalls at the event. Please note disposable BBQs are not permitted.
  • Is smoking permitted? No, the hospice is a no smoking site
  • What time can we arrive? Gates will open at 7.30pm, with the showing starting at 9pm
  • Where can we park?Parking is available in Ash Green’s Car Park opposite Ashgate Hospicecare. Disabled parking is in Ashgate Hospicecare’s main car park. Volunteers will direct you once you arrive. Please try and car share where possible
  • What time will the film finish?We must wait until it is dark to show the film, we are expecting to start the film at 9pm and the duration of Dirty Dancing is 1hr 50mins so the expected finish time is 10.50pm. We would recommend booking taxis for 11pm onawards
