“Pollinator Play”

Join us at Fair Hill NRMA, where you will find out all about Pollinators! Most fruit, vegetable and seed crops - and other plants that provide fiber, medicine and fuel – are pollinated by animals. Some scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat exist because of animal pollinators.

To find out more about these helpful creatures and unlock your Park Quest passport stamp, stop at each of the 4 stations for clues. Each station lists a “key” number to be recorded on your worksheet. Fill in the number on the line above the matching letter on your worksheet. When you have found all the numbers, use your “Beetective” skills to open the combination lock on the Park Quest box containing the stamp.

Clue A: The Quest starts at the Nature Play Space. Look for the beneficial insect houses to learn about the main pollinators for fruits and vegetables. Who are they?
