Evolution at Work at the Vienna Design Week, Bene Showcases What Professional Life Will

PRESS RELEASE

Evolution at Work – at the Vienna Design Week, Bene showcases what professional life will look like in future

Wien, Waidhofen an der Ybbs, 03.10.2017: Yesterday evening at the Vienna Design Week Bene hosted a design talk with experts from the furniture, design and architecture sectors to explore how social change, digitalisation, mobility and big data, among other factors, will influence and transform the ways we work. With “EVOLUTION AT WORK”, the international office furniture producer presented its new Office Guide and opened the major special exhibition of pieces by its Danish partner, Muuto. The presentation of the winner of the “Pixel Art” design competition rounded out this inspiring evening and its exploration of the transformation of everyday workplace settings.

New technologies are driving global change and transforming workplace settings in lasting ways in the process. Rigid organisational forms are increasingly being pried opened, and diversity has become a leading characteristic of both our private and professional lives. More than ever, people are working in mobile and flexible ways. A modern office that can keep pace with these changes supports flexible work, enables exchange and sharing across all hierarchical levels and encourages cooperative efforts among all departments.

As an international leading provider of design and furnishing solutions for office and working environments, Bene keeps a close eye on mega-trends, developing individual spaces based on them in which people can be efficient and focused, and enjoy working. In its recently published Office Guide “EVOLUTION AT WORK” Bene thinks through and beyond this rich array of current trends and developments. The guide, which Bene unveiled yesterday evening as part of its “Work in Progress” event at the Vienna Design Week and which formed the basis of a discussion among experts from the furniture, design and architecture sectors, is intended to be a guidebook for inspiring new working environments and charting the path towards a culture of cooperation. Bene is convinced that a seamless flow among different areas facilitates flexible work in modern professional environments, ensures a wide array of possibilities for dynamic exchange, and that cross-departmental cooperation encourages networking and creativity. In other words, we are witnessing EVOLUTION AT WORK.

After the roundtable discussion, Bene opened the impressive Muuto special exhibition. The Scandinavian premium brand is, like Bene, known for innovative approaches, design and superior quality and has therefore become the perfect partner for Bene this past year. Products developed in cooperation with Scandinavian designers such as Norway Says, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Harri Koskinen and Louise Campbell combine the tradition of Nordic design with modern aesthetics, functionality and craftsmanship.

Michael Fried, Executive Board member responsible for Sales, Marketing and Innovation at Bene, is very pleased with the successful event at the Vienna Design Week: “With “EVOLUTION AT WORK” Bene is creating spaces that promote an openness to change, support interaction and creativity and provide room for private and personal development. Thanks to our work with Muuto, we have the fantastic opportunity to design and create motivating yet comfortable work environments for our customers – with a touch of Nordic design flair.”

Because evolution is ultimately driven by creative inspiration, Bene rounded off the evening by presenting the winners of its “PIXEL ART” design contest. First place was a tie between NO.OVA Design (“PIXEL wants to play”) and Caramel Architekten (“Los Caramellos, the first PIXEL Band”).
