EQUIPMENT HIRE POLICY

The following are the minimum donations that BYP expects from anyone borrowing BYP equipment. The “NODA” rates apply to NODA members, members of Clubs for Young People, Bradford MDC school or youth groups and to other amateur groups supported by CNet or Bradford MDC.The higher rates apply to all other amateur, not for profit groups, borrowing equipment. Those borrowing the equipment do so at their own risk and they must have their own all risks insurance for the equipment.Requests from commercial or profit making groups will be considered on their merit. If the event has a charitable purpose they will be expected to make a donation in line with “others”. If it is for a profit-making event then a 25% surcharge will be added.

For single night use there will be a 50% discount and for two nights a 25% discount. A minimum fee of £40 will normally apply for all “NODA” and “Other” bookings and a £50 minimum fee for all Commercial groups. An extra fee will be payable if the equipment cannot be collected and returned at a time when a member of BYP’s technical crew would normally be at BYP premises, and groups may be asked to either make the donation before collecting the equipment and/or leave a deposit against damage.Groups borrowing equipment will receive a pro-forma from the BYP treasurer indicating the “donation” expected for the use of the equipment.

All requests to borrow equipment must be sent to the trustee in charge of equipment hire, Adam Grayson. If any other member of BYP receives such a request they must refer it to Adam.

Adam will contact the person wanting the equipment to tell them if it is available and at what cost. BYP will need to be assured that the person borrowing the equipment is fully conversant with its safe use. In the case of radio mics users must not let cast members fix and remove the mics themselves. They must have a sound technician to do this work, since this is the time that the heads can be damaged.
