SENIOR STUDENT PROFILE

Trenton Goodey– 9th Kyu

I am 14 years old and my birthday is

April 14th. I am a year 8 student at

NorwoodSecondaryCollege in North

Ringwood. During my spare time I

normally hang around with friends, I

like playing outside or if I’m inside I

either play on the computer, watch

TV, play the guitar, do homework or

read. Besides attending Hoshiki Kiritsu

Martial Arts, I play the guitar and play

tennis for Park Orchards. In the Summer

season I also play indoor soccer and go

surfing a lot and in Winter I play football

for Norwood and until recently I played

basketball.

In recent years my family (Mum – Andrea, Dad – Mal and little sister – Georgia-Rose) have been on several family holidays. In 2002 we went to Queensland for 2 weeks and went to all the theme parks. In 2003 we went to Port Douglas, 2005 we went to Bali and last year we went to Thailand. All were exciting and educational trips, on all holidays we went with family friends. The last trip we went on this year was to Queensland where we went to the theme parks again and spent time on the beach. We also go up to NSW Pambula yearly where we camp in tents and it is a lot fun. I am enjoying Martial Arts a lot and am enjoying doing it with my Dad.

The Adventures of Hosh & Yoko Geri

Episode 9

“Come here young Yoko Geri, I would like to give you a challenge.”

Yoko stood up from the kindling he was collecting and tentatively approached his Master.

“A challenge Master? Do you think I am ready?”

“I don’t know Yoko that is why I am putting my faith in you – your actions will give me the answer. I want us to split up for two days Yoko and head in different directions. We will then meet back here at this exact spot. During your travels I want you to gather as much information about the land you traverse as you can.”

“But Master, I have always been guided by you!” protestedYoko.

“I know Yoko, now you will have to become more aware of your surroundings and personal safety. Your only source of strength will be yourself.”

Somewhat buoyed by Master Hosh’s confidence in him Yoko set off without looking back. 48 hours passed and Master Hosh stood at their designated point. Slowly but surely Yoko strode confidently up to his Master, he was bursting with pride and confidence.

“Hello Master, I have travelled far and I have much to tell you.”

”I know Yoko I was following you for the whole journey.”

“But Master, why?” asked Yoko somewhat annoyed.

“Because Yoko, I wanted to observe how you handled yourself when you were under the belief that you were alone. Now i know you can think for yourself and I need not lead you – we will walk side by side from now on!”

Episode 10

Master Hosh and Yoko Geri travelled on – Master Hosh forever thinking, contemplating his life and its meaning; Yoko, full of enthusiasm, continually asking questions and learning from his master.

“We need to find more people Yoko; I crave some diverse company and ways of life.”

“Yes, I agree master, we have been travelling for so long and have hardly encountered another living soul, maybe we could stop and stay with a friendly tribe for a few days?”

“Come on then Yoko, let’s go. We can learn much and teach much wherever we go. We must endeavour to take something valuable from every section of humanity Yoko, for only then can we become fully rounded.”

So our two travellers set off to find another community of people.
