If your email signature mentions anything about “skype” or adds in little icons that shouldn’t be there, you need to disable Skye settings:

  • Open your browser and look for the blue Skype icon in the upper right-hand corner (icon should be blue with an "S" and "123" with a green phone image)
  • Click on the Skype icon.
  • A window will pop up asking you if want to "Turn number highlighting on". Uncheck the box to disable and click "OK".
  • Return to the email signature tool and follow the instructions to create an e-mail signature.

Q. Why is the IHS logo so big?

A. The size of the IHS logo has been increased as we are focused on increasing brand awareness both internally and externally. With this focus, we decided to increase the size of the logo to draw attention to the IHS Brand. Promoting who we are and what we do in the most common form of communication.

A. The legal disclaimer meets our legal obligation and is not in breach of our requirements. Legal has reviewed and approved the disclaimer as is.

Q. I noticed that is not included on the email signature, why is that?

A. We research best practices for email signatures and applied those practices. One of which is to hyperlink images to company websites. We have included a hyperlink to through the IHS logo and the Information I Analytics I Expertise text. This enables a cleaner and more powerful branded email signature.

Q. When I reply to some internals or people outside of IHS my email signature has broken images and the formatting is incorrect.

A. If your email signature looks correct to you when you compose an email, your settings are correct. However, because we cannot mandate what settings are used outside of the company, people may have varying settings that cause display issues once the email reaches them. From this point, once the emails signature is broken, it will remain that way throughout the entire email conversation. There is no work around for this. It’s an artifact of there being varying settings or differing email programs used.
