Minutes of the Committee Meeting of The East Cape Branch held on Tuesday 23 September 2014 at 15:00 in the boardroom of Afri-Coast Engineers, cnr Rose & Havelock Street, Central, Port Elizabeth

ACTION- WELCOME/OPENING
The meeting was opened at 15:00. Barry Martin welcomed everyone and thanked them for their work. Successful demonstration of 2013 conference and special thanks to Willem Hofmeyr.

- CONFERENCE 2013 – PORT ELIZABETH
- WH to find out if HO wants us to pay the amount into their account or if Gerrie should deposit the PC balance into Branch account.
- WH to inform everyone about the event at Sibuya Game Reserve which will include Lunch, Game Drive and Dinner.
- IMESA EXCO / COUNCIL MATTERS
- BM attended meeting in June 2014.
- Imesa HO has appointed an Office Manager, King Singh.

- BM suggested playing background music. DvR suggested that we use a Guitarist.
- The meeting will be held in the normal meeting area and spouses will wait in the Bar or Function area.
- BM suggested that CC finalised everything, Gerrie/Anton in charge of music, Dup/Willem to organise the speaker.
- Budget for the AGM Function – R 30,000.00.
- Security for outside parking
- Dress code – Smart Casual
- WH suggested for the nominations to be in house.
99. ARTICLES
WH to do an article on Jeffreys Bay WWTW. / WH
- STUDENTS / BURSARIES
- Litha Peter-completed his theoretical portion of the National Diploma and started with his in-service training with Jeffares and Green. He will no longer be on the Bursary programme.
- Samuel Herman – Still busy with his studies at UNISA and are doing 3 subjects currently, transportation engineering, structural analysis and water engineering. He will write exams in November and hope to complete his studies towards the end of next year. He applied for a bursary again for next year.
