SUBJECT:EARTH DAY/ TAKE OUR CHILDREN TO WORK DAY 2010

On April 22, 2010, the Air Resources Board (ARB), along with the California Environmental Protection Agency and its other Boards, Departments, and Offices, will celebrate Earth Day 2010 in conjunction with Take Our Children to Work Day. This will be ARB’s 18th Annual Celebration for our Sacramento locations. The El Montelocation celebration information and date will be forthcoming in the near future.

This event is designed to create and increase awareness of our environment and how we can work together to preserve it. Additionally, our young people will seea work environment that can provide career choices and opportunities within State service.

We have a variety of interesting activities planned. As always, we want each child who visits us to enjoy the day’s festivities. Employees who would like to invite their daughters, sons, relatives, or friends to participate in this event are encouraged to do so, but should first obtain approval from their supervisor. It is necessary for children to be accompanied by an adult to all events that they attend.

Welcome and check-in will begin at 7:30a.m. in the lobby. Activities, tours, and an opportunity to gather educational materials will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at noon. Throughout the morning, refreshments, snacks, and craft activities will be available in the hospitality room located in the Klamath Room on the 2nd Floor.

In addition, we are seeking volunteers to staff the hospitality rooms and activity tables for short periods throughout the morning, provide healthy snacks, or both. To register children who plan to attend or to volunteer, please complete and return the attachedregistrationformtoChona Sarte, ARB Coordinator, no later than April 5, 2010.
