Pre-Installation

1. Know What Components You Received From the Vendor

  1. Open and identify shipped materials
  2. Look for production drawings to verify against

2. Verify Site Height and Width at Installation Site

  1. Identify points where mounting hardware will attach to existing application
  2. Usually the track system itself will take 2 inches of height off curtain
  3. Verify height of curtain to point of attachment
  4. Curtain should hang ½ to 1 inch above ground
  5. Allow for 2 inches for track system
  6. Within the first 24 hours of hanging, the curtain will stretch a small amount
  7. Note: The warmer the temperature, the taller the curtain may become
  8. This re-proportioning may require a new height adjustment to the mounting hardware prior to the actual installation
  9. Curtain vendor does not provide any mounting hardware: bolts, nuts, angle iron, etc.

3. Verify Shipped Components

  1. Curtain
  2. Know shipped curtain height
  3. Know shipped curtain width
  4. Know the number of panels and their installation sequence
  5. Get ceiling angle iron (Provided by installer)
  6. Supply angle iron to attach to side walls (If required, provided by installer)
  7. Supply vertical stiffeners (If required, provided by installer)
  8. Pockets typically pre-attached to curtain
  9. Usually 1 or 2 inch pipe
  10. To stabilize curtain, attach at floor and ceiling
  11. Find personnel door materials (Optional)
  12. Door frame and vinyl strips (See attachment)
  13. Find traffic door materials (Optional)
  14. Door frame and vinyl strips (See attachment)

4. Installation

  1. Installer must identify and supply materials to attach curtain wall to
  2. Re-verify distance, support materials (i.e. angle iron)
  3. Make any adjustments to height prior to installation
  4. Attach curtain to support material (i.e. angle iron)
  5. Refer to vendor production drawing
  6. Panels are typically numbered; begin with number one and continue hanging from there
  7. Make sure all panel to panel attachments are secured completely
  8. Hitting floor with ½ to 1 inch of floor excess
  9. Address attachment of extreme ends of curtain to wall (Optional)
  10. Either tek screw or Velcro to installed angle iron or attach directly to wall
  11. Install vertical stiffeners (Optional)
  12. Pockets must exist on curtain
  13. Run piping through vertical pocket, attach at floor and ceiling
  14. Install personnel door (Optional)
  15. Use included attachment: Installing a Personnel Door
  16. Install traffic door (Optional)
  17. Use included attachment: Installing a Traffic Door
  18. Make all adjustments
