Activity Name: Stress and Anger Pictionary (IDEAS ON THE LAST PAGE)

  • Marker or something else to draw with
  • Board, or something to draw on
  • Paper or note cards with words or phrases on them

Facilities required/environment / No specific environment needed.
Precautions / Make sure drawing is visible to all participants.

Sequence/Directions:

  1. Participants split into two groups. One group goes first.
  2. First group picks someone to be the drawer.
  3. The drawer is given a card by the group facilitator with a word or phrase he/ she has to draw.(Examples provided on the last page of this document)
  4. The participant has 30 seconds to draw the word or phraseon the white board or large piece of paper and his/her team has 30 seconds to guess it.
  5. If they guess it they get a point, if they don’t the other team has a chance to steal the point by guessing it right.
  6. Then the second team picks someone to be the drawer and directions from 2 to 5repeat.
  7. This is repeated until either all the cards run outor players decide on a certain number of points to play up toso that one team is the winner.

Cognitively / Allow participant drawing to give clues to teammates. / Make it so that participants have to guess exactly what is being drawn (word for word what is written on the note card or paper). Make drawing requirements more complex such as “a person smiling while riding a bicycle.”
Physically / Make all participants sit around a table while playing. / Blindfold the participant who is drawing. Have all participants stand around the board while person draws
Socially / Decrease number of participants. / Have participants converse with their groups before shouting out an answer.

Other Comments: Make sure participants who wear glasses bring their glasses, make sure you have words and phrases to draw that relate to your group.
