52Beginners (may be on lead rein). Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday on 1st January in current year. Riders must be genuine beginners. Max height of fence 30cms. If you enter this class on the lead rein you may not enter Class 52 off the lead rein - plaited or unplaited.

53Open Beginners - under 14 yrs riders any age and must be genuine beginners. Max height of fence: 50 cms - plaited or unplaited.

54Novice Working Hunter pony (not exceeding 143 cms). Must not have won a 1st prize in Novice or Open WHP before 1st January of current year. Max height of fence; 65 cms - plaited or unplaited.

55Novice Working Hunter horse (exceeding 143 cms). Must not have won a 1st prize in Novice or Open WHP before 1st January of current year. Max height of fence; 75 cms - plaited or unplaited.

For ponies not exceeding 122 cms riders not to have attained their 12th birthday in the current year. For ponies not exceeding 133 cms riders not to have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January of the current year. For ponies notexc 143 cms rider not to have attained their 17th birthday by 1st January of the current year. For ponies not exceeding 153 cms rider not to have attained 20th birthday before 1st January of the current year.

13Riding Horse - Mare or Gelding - Exceeding 148 cms.

14Cobs - Mare, Gelding or Stallion - hogged and hairy - Cobs any height any type EXCLUDING WELSH (to receive certain qualifiers; Mare or Gelding to exceed 148 cms but not to exceed 155 cms and must be hogged.

27Novice Equitation - 14 yrs and under - Rider must NOT have won a first place in any Equitation class before 1st January of the current year.

28Tiny Handler - Open to children between 4 & 9 yrs—pony not to exceed 148cm (parental help allowed).

30First Year 1st Ridden / Have a go off Lead Rein - Open to children between 4 & 9 yrs. Pony not to exceed 142cm. Child not to have competed off lead rein before 1st January of the current year.

31Best Trotted Figure of Eight - Pony not exceeding 148 cms. Rider / Handler must be 4 years old but not to have attached 12th birthday on the 1st January of current year. To include Ridden, In Hand and Lead Rein.

32Best Manners Child and Pony - Open to children 4 to 12 yrs to include lead rein, ridden and in hand, will be judged on the child’s and pony’s manners.

33Absolute Beginners Ridden Showing - Open to horses or ponies - Riders any age, but must be suitable height and weight for their pony. Open to Lead Rein Riders. Correct standard Hat, Boots and Jodhpurs must be worn; jackets not necessary but rider’s arms must be covered. Cantering optional. Parental supervision required.
