The 12th International Symposium on CBM/CMM in China will be held in the Landmark Hotel, Beijing on 8-9th November, 2012.
It is co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, China, organized by China Coal Information Institute.
Background
As an important event in the CBM/CMM sector, this international symposium in China has become a platform to promote the development of the CBM industry through strengthening technical and economic cooperation in CBM/CMM recovery and utilization at home and abroad. The 2-day symposium will provide participants with an opportunity to promote potential cooperation and showcase the latest theoretical and technological advances on CBM/CMM and VAM recovery and utilization.
Experts will be invited to give a series of presentations in a CMM workshop at the symposium on their advanced technologies and research projects, including a recent major project entitled Integrated Coal Production and Methane Extraction, under the auspice of Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate. Domestic coal companies will also be invited to attend the symposium and introduce their experiences of CMM and VAM recovery and utilization in different mining areas.

Who to attend?
This symposium is targeted at government officials, technical researchers and staff on CBM recovery and utilization, engineers from ventilation and gas control departments of coal companies, manufacturers of CBM/CMM recovery and utilization equipment, and professionals from GHG mitigation and trading companies.
Languages
Languages will be English and Chinese with consecutive interpretation provided.
Call for Papers
Participants are welcome to submit papers or give a presentation at the symposium. All papers should be submitted to the organizing committee via email () by October 18th, 2012. Papers submitted within the deadline will have the opportunity to be included in the proceedings and priority to present at the symposium.
Venue
The Symposium will be held in the Landmark Hotel, located in the heart of Beijing city. Landmark Hotel provides an ideal base for shopping and exploring the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the famous Silk Market. Beijing Capital International Airport is just 20-minutes drive away.
A limited number of hotel rooms have been booked for participants at special rates. Please submit the registration form no later than October 18th, 2012 to ensure room reservations at the special rate.
Registration
The fee for each delegate, including accepted authors, will be US$400 inclusive of registration fee, materials, working lunch, receptions, etc. Expenditure for accommodation will be borne by the delegates.
