JOB TITLE: / Stores Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE: / To be responsible for all stock recording, storage and transactions held within the department. To ensure that goods are stored in a methodical manner to ease retrieval and provide a service to internal customers to enable them to carry out their duties in an efficient manner.
KEY RESULT AREAS: / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- STORES
To register on the computer system all stock issues from the stores to ensure that stock is allocated to the correct contract.
To use the computer system to stock transfer part finished goods between depots so that the components location can be identified at all times.
To issue components that are received from inspection to identified works orders to ensure that any outstanding demands on the works orders are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.
To ensure each component is furnished with a stock location to enable ease of retrieval of goods and provide a systematic approach of stocktaking by location.
To provide a service for internal customers when requesting goods from the stores to ensure that all personnel have the goods they need to be effective in their tasks.
To pick components to kitting lists as identified by the Production Manager to enable either car build pick or works orders to be actioned in the most timely and effective manner.
To provide accurate booking records of all jigs and tooling which are registered by the stores so they can be located effectively and efficiently when required.
To carryout weekly perpetual inventory counts to ensure that the highest stock accuracy is maintained.
- PURCHASING
To progress chase goods on order to ensure that they are received within the pre-agreed timescales.
- DEPARTMENTAL LIAISON
To provide Departmental Managers with a copy of the stock issue register to enable any contract costing anomalies to be identified immediately.
To ensure the external nut and bolt racks are sufficiently furnished with stock to ensure that RML personnel have the goods they need to be effective in their tasks.
To deliver goods to the requestor as identified on the purchase order or goods received note to ensure they are issued in a timely and efficient manner.
To provide fork lift duties to assist in the loading and unloading of goods from carriers, suppliers and customers to ensure materials handling is carried out in a
Safe and efficient manner.
- GENERAL
To participate in the yearly stock take in order to ensure the accurate provision of stock holding records.
To be responsible for keeping the working area clean and tidy at all times in order to promote a safe and professional working environment.
To adhere to RML’s policies, procedures, Health & Safety and employment rules at all times.
