Marketing Director, Springfield Town Center

Vornado Realty Trust has an immediate need for a Marketing Director at Springfield Town Center in Springfield, VA. Currently experiencing a major redevelopment, Springfield Town Center will soon emerge as an exciting new shopping environment. As an important member of the management team, the Marketing Director will lead the on-site marketing efforts during the redevelopment and beyond.This position reports to the Director of Retail Marketing at the corporate office.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Create, manage, and execute the marketing strategy for the Grand Reopening of Springfield Town Center, which will include:

  • Managing the creation of advertising and awareness strategies for the Grand Reopening.
  • Managing media and community outreach, including traditional advertising and social media.
  • Organizing merchants for the Grand Reopening.
  • Planning and scheduling Grand Reopening events.
  • Staffing and preparing the customer service team and gift card programfor the Grand Reopening.
  • Researching, negotiating, and purchasing promotional items to be used for customer service and events.
  • Assisting the leasing department in identifying and attracting new tenants

Create, manage, and execute the on-going marketing program for Springfield Town Center, which, in addition to continuing the appropriate functions established for the Grand Reopening, will include:

  • Establishing and managing annual marketing objectives, strategy, plan and budget for Springfield Town Center.
  • Creatingand executing regular and new events and outreach programs that will increase shopper traffic and sales.
  • Supportingthe marketing efforts of tenants to increase store sales.
  • Managing the merchandising of storefronts
  • Working with mall management, customer service teams, and store managers to communicate and operate marketing programs and event logistics via mall signage, website, e-blasts and community partnerships.
  • Buildingcommunity relationships with schools, charities, sports, and cultural organizations.
  • Managing and regularly updating the website and buildingthe e-blast database

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5years of experience in marketing, promotions, and/or event planning
  • Familiarity with the trade area and media outlets
  • Experience with opening a new retail development highly preferable
  • Strong communications skills, organizational ability, and team orientation
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as part of schedule
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Graphic abilities a plus.
