Subject: Title I Annual Meeting
  1. Purpose: Clarify expectations around the implementation of Annual Meeting for all City Schools.
  1. Board Priority 4: City Schools and all schools will partner with families, communities and the public and private sectors to foster shared ownership of schools and to collectively create opportunities for student success; City Schools and all schools will more deeply engage parents in their students’ learning.

  1. Implementation Guidelines:

At least one Annual Meeting is required for all schools. An Annual Meeting is open to all parents and broadly promoted to encourage attendance. The purpose is to share data, programs, budget information, and implementation plans for family and community engagement activities with parents, students and community members.

  1. An Annual Meeting can happen at any time throughout the school year but every school must address all the Annual Meeting components over the course of the year.
  2. Schools can use their Back to School Night as an Annual Meeting.
  3. The components to be covered at an Annual Meeting are:
  4. Title I School Status/Rights of Title I Parents
  5. School Performance Data
  6. School budget overview of key (e.g. state assessment results, Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards, PARCC)
  7. Parent Involvement Plan
  8. School-Parent Compact
  9. All documentation for the Annual Meeting must be kept in the Family and Community Engagement Binder
  10. Types of Documentation (S.A.N.E.)
  11. Sign-In Sheets
  12. Agendas
  13. Notes and Notifications (e.g. flyers, letters home, Parent Link scripts, website)
  14. Evaluations
  15. Support for Schools
