Back by popular demand! Our Winter2014Chapter meeting will be held at The Publick House, an historic inn and country lodge “on the Common” in quaint Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1771, the Publick House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. . . and 240+ years later, AICP – New England will enjoy its enduring warmth and charmonce again!

Kathy Donovan– no stranger to our group! – is currently the senior compliance counsel for Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ Insurance Compliance Solutions group, where she focuses on researching legislative and regulatory activity to help increase awareness and understanding of compliance issues affecting insurers.With more than 20 years of insurance regulatory experience and expertise under her belt, Kathy frequently pensrelevant articles of interest to industry publications such as Insurance Networking News, National Underwriter,Insurance Compliance Insight, Best’s Review, Global Finance, andInsurance & Technology.She also has presented numerous times on a variety of industry topics at various industry events including ACLI, AICP (Chapters and National), ACE Claims, and LHCA meetings.

Kathy will provide us with a look back at 2014, its “hot topics” and enforcement issues. And, with 2015 just around the corner, she will peer into the legislative and regulatory future and anticipate what might be in store for our industry – including touching on topics such as electronic compliance challenges, New England states’ experiences, and/or “CAT” issues (after the storm stuff), as time permits.

Following the presentation by Ms. Donovan, a “plated” holiday feast will be served, featuring:

It’s the Holiday Season, a time when people come together to share fellowship with one another and to enjoy the spirit of the Season. (But this year, with a twist. . . we’ll just let you be surprised!!)

The Publick House ( is offering us some great discounted rates on guest rooms for both Thursday and Friday night, December 18 - 19:

The Country Lodge –Adjacent to the Inn itself, the Lodge offers contemporary rooms with two queen beds, at $115/night; or roomswith a king bed, at $125/night.

The Publick House Historic Inn – A tad smaller but with more “historic character,” the Inn offers rooms with either a queen or double bed, or two twins, at $159/night. . . or a Suite with a king bed and living room, at $199/night.

All guest rooms have private baths, and overnight guests are invited to partake in complimentary coffee and pastry in Ebenezer’s Tavern (in the Inn) on the following morning(s). All room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes.
