Due to our continued growth, we are seeking to hire a Cost Accountant to join our talented team.

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for partnering with Operations, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and Supply Chain departments to deliver new and revised product pricing in addition to analyzing manufacturing and supply chain/inventory variances of current products produced.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Working alongside Operations Management, performs work order variance analysis on a daily basis including providing root cause and corrective actions.

·  Analyzes operating cost including ad hoc studies incorporating department staffing, capacity and utilization, Purchase Price Variance and Make/Buy analyses; as well as other cost related projects.

·  Utilizes A/X system to review inventory and related work order systems including physical to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, audit explanations, and standard costs.

·  Analyzes inventory adjustments over set thresholds and work with production control to determine root cause and corrective action.

·  Analyzes standard costs of new and revised products and review and analysis of standard costs for existing products. Maintains the integrity and accuracy of product cost data.

·  Audits cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, recount decisions, research of discrepancies, and reporting on root causes and progress toward making improvements for greater quantity and physical accuracy.

·  Provides cost support to cross functional areas as requested.

·  Provides product cost information utilized in month end financial closing.

·  Performs reporting activities throughout the month including COGS, margins, PPV, scrap and other metrics to ensure timing and accuracy of standards and gross margins.

·  Creates cost analysis reports collaborating with Sales & Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and peers in Finance to formulate corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Education

·  Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required

·  Additional coursework in Cost Accounting highly preferred

·  Ongoing training, certifications, or seminar attendance in finance or accounting

Experience

·  5+ years of cost accounting, finance, or auditing experience preferred.

·  Background must demonstrate a sound understanding manufacturing and cost accounting principles.

·  Prior experience/use and proficiency of ERP software systems, spreadsheets, and MS Office / Windows required. EXPERIENCE WITH MICROSOFT A/X or MICROSOFT DYNAMICS HIGHLY PREFERRED.

·  Strong technical accounting skills and experience with cost accounting systems in a manufacturing environment.

·  Must be highly proficient using ERP systems and MS Office products.
