SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS–STAFF NURSE
Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week (3 x 12.5 hour shifts) inclusive of meal breaks, Monday to Sunday.
You will be entitled to a shift allowance for working evenings and weekends.
Some flexibility may be requested by CHAS occasionally.
Occupational sick pay scheme
CHAS operates an occupational sick pay scheme which is more generous than statutory entitlements and is based on length of service.
Maternity / Paternity
CHAS conforms to the statutory provisions on statutory maternity and paternity leave/pay, and alsooffers enhanced occupational maternity pay, subject to eligibility.
Annual Leave
The annual leave entitlement is 262.5 hours from date of commencement which includes 75 hours in lieu of public holidays. Your annual leave entitlement will increase to a maximum of 300 hours, based on continuous service.
Pension
CHAS employees can join Lothian Pension Fund (subject to eligibility).
If an employee has been a member of the NHS Superannuation Scheme (Scotland) or the 2015 NHS Pension Scheme (Scotland) within the previous 12 months, they may be able to continue paying into this pension scheme, subject to eligibility and eligible posts. Please contact SPPA for guidance.

Induction
All new employees must attend the corporate induction event and undertake all required mandatory training including health and safety and fire.
Car Parking
CHAS, where it can, provides access to car parking facilities at our locations ona first come basis.However, this is a non-contractual benefit and not an employee right. Current capacity is limited at some CHAS sites.
