This Word Project will be submitted to me for grading. It is worth 1000 points. Use the following criteria and the example as a guide.

Save and Email your completed project to me at: for grading. I will return it with comments and your grade. Make the Email Subject line: Hawaii Final Project.

Start with a New Blank Document (50 Points)

·  Horizontal page Layout, Narrow Margins (.5”)

·  Save it as: YourFirstName Hawaii.docx

Define the Layout (100 Points)

Create a Table for your Tri-Fold Travel Brochure:

·  Insert a 3x1 Table

·  Set the Table Cell Margins for the Left and Right to .15

·  Set all Borders to “No Border”

·  Turn on “View Gridlines” to see the table cell boundaries

Add Text (100 Points)

·  Get the Brochure text from this link: Hawaii_Travel_Brochure_Text.txt

·  Copy the Text to the corresponding Table Cell using the Final Brochure as a guide

Format Text (200 Points)

The 3 column headings:

·  Body Text is Calibri 36

·  Paragraph Line Spacing is Single 1.0

·  Before Paragraph spacing is 0 pts

·  After Paragraph spacing is 0 pts

The remaining body text:

·  Body Text is Calibri 12

·  Paragraph Line Spacing is 1.15

·  Before Paragraph spacing is 12 pts

·  After Paragraph spacing is 0 pts

·  Align: Justify

·  Apply Automatic Hyphenation to the body text

Enhance the Column Headings with WordArt (150 Points)

·  Convert all 3 column headings to WordArt Style:

Fill – White, Outline – Accent 2, Hard Shadow – Accent 2

·  Adjust the all 3 WordArt graphics:

o  Change the Text Outline Color to Blue, Accent 5

o  Change the Text Effect Shadow Color to Blue, Accent 5, Darker 50%

·  Set the Text Wrapping to Top and Bottom

·  Adjust the Font Character Spacing to Expanded By 2 pt

·  Manually position each column heading in the approximate center of the column

Enhance with Color Shapes (150 Points)

·  Insert the Heart Shape (cell 2) and the Sun Shape (cell 3)

·  Size all both shapes to: Width 3”, Height 3”

·  Shape Fill: Blue, Accent 5, Lighter 80%

·  Shape Outline: No Outline

·  Manually position each Shape in the approximate horizontal center of each column

·  Select both Shapes and Align Top, be sure Align Selected Objects is checked because you are aligning them to each other

·  With both Shapes still selected, position their top to the 2” mark on the vertical ruler (Turn on Gridlines to help the alignment)

·  With both Shapes still selected, change the Wrap Text option to Behind Text

Enhance with Pictures (200 Points)

·  Add 3 picture to the first column from the picture links:

o  hawaii_2.jpg

o  hawaii_3.jpg

·  Set the Wrap Text option to Tight

·  Size all 3 pictures to 2” width by maintaining the aspect ratio

·  Manually position each Picture in the approximate horizontal center of each column

·  Select all 3 Pictures and Align Center, be sure Align Selected Objects is checked because you are aligning them to each other

·  With all 3 Shapes still selected, Distribute Vertically, this will space them evenly to each other

·  Apply the Rotated White Picture Style to all 3 pictures

Finishing Touches (50 Points)

Insert a Rounded Rectangle Shape:

·  Width: 3.2”

·  Height: 7.3”

·  Reduce the radius of the corners by about 1/2 the default distance

·  Shape Outline: Black, Text 1; Weight 1 pt

·  Shape Fill: No Fill

·  Note, the shape will extend slightly past the bottom of the table

Manually position it to align with the top of cell 1, horizontal center

Duplicate the Shape twice, and position them the same way in cell 2 and cell 3
