Our Philosophy:

The primary aim for all players, their parents and coaches is to have fun! We then want to develop the cricketing skills of players of all abilities. We place this above and beyond winning games and play all games in the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship that characterises our club. We are a Clubmark approved club recognized by the ECB (English Cricket Board) for excellence in the provision of youth cricket. Please read our Club Welfare page on the web-site see our notice boards in the Cricket Pavilion for important information concerning our Youth players. Our Club Welfare officer is:

  • Training throughout the season

Parents – you do the rest!

  • Contact us with availability: if you do not let us know, we cannot pick them for games! All we ask is for a prompt yes or no response. We will be ideally contacting using email.
  • Transport to and from games though we can help with ride share when needed
  • Support with a bit of umpiring or scoring? We are always looking for willing helpers
  • Match fees will be £2 per player and we really must get this every time to cover costs.
  • With your consent we would also like to circulate a distribution list of players among parents to help with possible ride-shares etc.

Team Shirts and Caps: We encourage all players to buy a team shirt at a discounted price. They are available in Boys (26-28) and Youth (30-32) sizes. If you bought a shirt already and would like to exchange it, we can connect you with other parents to minimise costs. We also expect to have team caps for sale this year.

Team Management:

  • Each team has a Team Manager listed below who will contact you about games. We will aim to select the team and inform parents at least five days before the game. Email will be our normal communication method unless not possible in certain cases.
  • Our aim is to give every child who wants to play as many games as possible but it may not be possible for your child to play every game for which they are available.
  • In the event of cancellation for bad weather or other reasons, the Club will contact parents as promptly as possible.

Team Managers: all these individuals are CRB-checked for the season. Support will also be provided by other individuals at the Club and with the supervision of managers or qualified coaches.
