2018 Miss Butler County Princess Pageant
Dear Prospective Princess Pageant Contestant (and Parent/Legal Guardian):
We are pleased that you are considering entering the 2018 Miss Butler County Princess Pageant, which will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Vagabond’s Banquet Center, located in Butler, PA (138 Whitestown Road; Lyndora, PA 16045). This year we will be awarding 3 titles, including Little Miss Butler County Princess, Junior Miss Butler County Princess, and Preteen Miss Butler County Princess.
The titles of Little Miss Butler County Princess, Junior Miss Butler County Princess, and Preteen Miss Butler County Princess are open all born female children based on the following age requirements*:
Little Miss Butler County Princess contestants must be 6–7 years old
Junior Miss Butler County Princess contestants must be 8–10 years old
Preteen Miss Butler County Princess contestants must be 11–13 years old
*Contestants will compete as of their actual age on June 3, 2018.
Scoring throughout the competition is as follows:
Fitness Wear = 20%
Talent = 40%
Party Dress/Gown = 20%
Prizes and Awards
All winners will receive a crown, sash, flowers, cash scholarship, and other additional awards that will be announced at the pageant.
What will you need in order to be prepared at the pageant?
Competition Wardrobe
- Fitness Outfit (T-shirt/Tank, shorts, and tennis shoes with white crew socks; These outfits will also be utilized for the Opening Number.)
- Talent Outfit (Talent performances must be a minimum of 1 minute and are not to exceed 2 minutes. In addition, performances must be age appropriate and complement music selection. Any props must be fully operational and must be utilized during the talent presentation. Please bring 2 CDs with only your talent track on the CD and/or email music selection via MP3 format to . On your CD, please include your name and song title.)
- Party Dress/Gown (Party dresses should be knee/tea length for Little and Junior Contestants; Preteen Contestants may wear tea length or full length gown.)

Once we receive your entry materials you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please check back with us because it probably means that for some reason we have not received your submission.
Tickets
Tickets for the 2018 Miss Butler County Princess Pageant will be $20. The event will include a Buffet Dinner followed by the Princess Pageant. Dinner will begin at 5:00 PMand the Pageant will promptly begin at 6:00 PM. Please see Ticket Form which is included on the last page of the information packet. Please include completed Ticket Form with your entry materials.
Important Dates
May 25, 2018:Entry Deadline and all Paperwork is due, including Ticket Orders.
June 3, 2018: DRESS REHEARSAL – will be held at the Vagabond’s Banquet Center and will start promptly at 1:00 PM. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST ATTEND! During rehearsal, all competition wardrobe will be approved and once selections are confirmed, no changes may be made. At this time, we will begin to learn the Opening Number and other competition staging for Fitness Wear and Party Dress/Gown. Following this rehearsal, there will be a short break before we begin Talent Rehearsal. For talent walkthroughs, we will assign 5 minute time slots, per contestant. Contestants must perform in full costume with any applicable props during rehearsal. At 4:30 PM, we will break prior to the start of the dinner portion of the event. Please note proposed schedule is subject to change, based on the number of contestant entries. As such, Dress Rehearsal could start as early as 10:00 AM and we will be in touch to communicate the actual start time closer to the pageant date.

PRINCESS PAGEANT: Official Rules and Regulations
As a participant in the Miss Butler County Scholarship Princess Pageant, you must abide by the following rules and regulations:
Contestants
- All contestants must be of good moral character. This includes behavior that is free from foul language and does not engage in any activity that is deemed as inappropriate by the Miss Butler County Scholarship Organization.
- No cell phones will be permitted during rehearsals, the pageant, or any other time throughout the pageant (including the dress rehearsal). Any cell phone that is used by a contestant, without approved permission, will be confiscated and returned at the conclusion of the pageant. In the case that a contestant feels the need to use a cell phone, they may inquire to a Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant Committee Member concerning their situation and permission may be granted.
- Contestants must follow all directions from the Pageant Choreographer, Directors, Stage Crew and Staff of Vagabond’s Banquet Center, and the Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant Board Members and Volunteer Staff with respect and courtesy. Please apply the “Golden Rule” and utilize a positive attitude throughout the pageant weekend.
- All Contestants will be permitted ONE dressing room assistant back stage in order to help them during the pageant. Badges for dressing room assistants will be provided at Dress Rehearsal and only dressing room assistants with badges will be permitted back stage.
Parents
- Parents and other family members of contestants must help us to set a positive example for all of the contestants in the pageant. Please be respectful of all contestants and refrain from negative conversations concerning other contestants or anyone affiliated with the Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant. This includes the Pageant Choreographer, Directors, Stage Crew and Staff of Vagabond’s Banquet Center, and the Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant Board Members and Volunteer Staff. Please demonstrate kind and courteous behavior throughout the pageant weekend.
- Any parent that oversteps the boundaries of good judgement and demonstrates inappropriate behavior as determined by the Miss Butler County Scholarship Organization will jeopardize their child’s participation in the pageant and may result in the contestant being disqualified.
Titleholders (Pageant Winners – Miss Butler County and Miss Moraine State)
- Miss Butler County Princess Pageant Titleholders must cooperate with the Miss Butler County Scholarship Organization Directors and Board of Directors and follow instruction(s). This includes attending scheduled appearances and events. All appearances must be approved by the Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant Directors.
- In the case you must resign from and or/ relinquish your title, you must forfeit your sash, crown, and any other awarded prizes and scholarships, as a result of not fulfilling your responsibilities as our Princess Titleholder.
- Winners must perform at the 2019 Miss Butler County Scholarship Pageant, to be held in 2018 or 2019, date TBA.
- Winners must also be present to “give up” your crown at the 2019 Miss Butler County Princess Pageant.
In the case that any contestant and/or parent, (and/or Local Titleholder) breaks one of these rules, the Miss Butler County Scholarship Organization reserves the right to expel the contestant or associated contestant from the competition (or relinquish title). This also includes any additional rules that are announced during pageant weekend.
I hereby acknowledge that I have read the Official Rules & Regulations of the Miss Butler County Princess Pageant, which I am entering. I will comply with all these rules. The personal data herein set forth is correct.
I agree that the time, manner and method of judging the pageant will be solely within the discretion of the Miss Butler County Princess Pageant Judges. The decision of the Judges will be final. Score sheets and the Judge’s ballots will be the sole property of the Miss Butler County and will not be available for viewing.
In consideration of being accepted as an entrant in the pageant we do hereby release the Miss Butler County Scholarship Organization, including the Directors and Board, in addition toany volunteers, the location and facility in which the pageant is presented from any and all claims for damages for injuries which the entrant might sustain while participating in any activity connected with the competition.
