The Barum Vanis family - excellent mileage performance for MPVs and light vans

Hanover / Essen, June 2010. The Vanis from Barum is an economical tyre for light vans and multi-purpose vehicles and constitutes a cost-effective option for price-conscious buyers. The tyre's special design means low wear and, consequently, a long service life. The SnoVanis is known for its safe driving characteristics on roads in winter, coupled with high mileage performance.

The predominant features of the Barum Vanis summer tyre for light vans and MPVs are economy and impressive mileage performance, in conjunction with extremely good handling and extensive aquaplaning protection. This makes the Vanis particularly suited to meet the demands of commercial users. The tyre's extremely long service life - which makes it easy on the wallet - is due in large part to its sturdy ribbed structure and flat belt contour, as these design elements mean particularly even wear. Two solid central ribs and numerous tread lug edges ensure outstanding grip when cornering, plus optimum steering performance. Three wide and deep circumferential drainage grooves discharge water efficiently, thereby reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

The Vanis was developed for speeds of up to 210 km/h (131 mph) and is available in 26 sizes as a 14", 15" and 16" tyre.

The SnoVanis

The main characteristics of the attractively-priced SnoVanis are its safe driving characteristics on roads in winter, coupled with high mileage performance. The densely-packed tread sipes improve traction in snow and ice, whilst wide circumferential lateral grooves quickly channel slush and water out of the tread. The tread lug arrangement, which was optimised using computer simulations, provides comfortable driving with low noise levels and the high tread stiffness ensures best driving stability. In addition, the offset central ribs in the tread and the flat tyre contour together reduce tyre wear, increasing mileage performance as a result. The SnoVanis from Barum is available in 20 different sizes and specifications, making it suitable for multi-purpose vehicles and light vans used private and commercially. The range includes models from 14" to 16", which are approved for speeds of up to 190 km/h (118 mph), depending on their size.
