This semester you will be paired with another student. The two of you will decide on a topic that you will research in detail. You will then focus on a way to present what you have learned to the class. Finally, you will evaluate your partner. Your grade is a combination of your presentation grade and your evaluation.
This is TEN PERCENT OF YOUR FINAL GRADE!
PAIRING:Partners decide how to split the work up. If a group cannot get along or if one person is consistently not doing their part, group members need to see me. I will first attempt to resolve the problem in a conference. If that does not work I will contact parents. I may split the group and have each person do their own assignment. IF YOU DON'T DO YOUR PART, YOU WILL FAIL!
TOPIC: With the few exceptions, students may choose virtually any subject. Topics must be approved. Biographies are prohibited. You may compare several people to one another, but it must be in the context of illustrating your topic. You cannot repeat your topic from the fall exploratory.
RESEARCH:All websites must be approved and copies included in the packet submitted the day you present. This is similar to fall.
PRESENTATION:Presentations must be 7 to 9 minutes long. Both persons should be involved in the actual presentation. There must be, in addition to the title & bibliography slides, seven slides of content - minimum. Remember - this is 10% of your grade, do the minimal and get a minimal grade. Presenters should not simply read the slides. Other visual aides are permissible. Make sure you use proper citations.
Presenation Dates:May 13th May 14th May 15th
Missing assigned date will result in a loss of 30 Points.
Failure to make up presentation on assigned make up day will result in a zero.
