EXPERIENCE

/ Relevant work experience in Structural Engineering / Experience of local government working practices
Experience of Quality Assurance
Experience of Civil Engineering Design Work
Experience in Approval process of Building Regulations part A.
Experience in undertaking Building Condition Surveys, assessing remedial requirements and presenting solutions. / Application form & Interview selection process.

QUALIFICATIONS

SPECIALIST
KNOWLEDGE / Knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering works from conception to implementation and construction related health and safety issues to enable the post holder to assist in dealing with a high volume of engineering related enquiries from directorates, other local businesses and the general public.
Ability to carry out Structural Engineering Design and checking, including experience in the use of CAD.
The ability to maintain excellent customer relationships and to be able to negotiate solutions to problems.
Ability to translate plans into actions and to analyse and use complex information including financial and statistical information.
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and have good communication and negotiating skills.
Ability to form effective relationships with other service users and service providers.
Ability to apply safe systems of work and the knowledge of Construction related Health & Safety issues. / Experience of managing programmes of work
Experience in using design software such as TEDD’s and/or Master Series
