We're in our 90th year of funding cancer research in Yorkshire and to celebrate, we've got ambitious plans. Our aim is to fund £10 million of research over the next few years as we know that if you live in Yorkshire you are more likely to get cancer and less likely to survive cancer than if you live in most other places in the UK. We're expanding our team so we can put that right.

As Regional Fundraiser, your role is simple - you will maximise income and opportunities to help fund our research and cancer support services by delivering to your targets. You will be responsible for driving a successful regional fundraising programme across the area, supporting volunteers, as well as independently progressing fundraising activities across a wide range of income streams and activities. You will need previous experience of paid or voluntary fundraising, strong organisational and communication skills, a flexible approach to a busy and varied workload and a passion for improving the lives of people affected by cancer.

Job Title: Regional Fundraising Officer (x 3 posts)

Responsible to: Director of Fundraising

Location: Home Based (South, East and North Yorkshire) with frequent attendance at our Harrogate HQ.

Job Purpose

Your role is to maximise income and opportunities by recruiting, managing and developing supporters in your area. You will be responsible for driving a successful regional fundraising programme across the area, as well as independently working to targets and progressing fundraising activities across a wide range of income streams.

Key Responsibilities

1.  With the Director of Fundraising, develop and manage a local fundraising plan that contributes to the fundraising strategic plan.

2.  Raise sustainable income from the local community in your area through existing and new supporters.

3.  Develop fundraising opportunities across across a broad range of target markets including corporates, trusts, community organisations, schools and universities.

4.  Promote and deliver key activities including: challenge events, sporting events and partnerships, community events and partnerships, charity own events and collections.

5.  Support the development of annual operational plans to deliver community fundraising including budget targets and phasing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

6.  Deliver excellent supporter care including supporter recruitment, development and stewardship

7.  Work collaboratively with colleagues to increase awareness of Yorkshire Cancer Research's work and promote fundraising initiatives as appropriate across multiple communication channels.

8.  Act as Yorkshire Cancer Research Ambassador and prime point of contact for community fundraising matters in your area.

Key Requirements

1.  Experience of fundraising either in a paid or voluntary capacity

2.  Experience of managing an income and expenditure budget and working to financial targets and deadlines.
