What was the most important thing you learned or gained today?

  • That all the pieces are necessary
  • The importance of taking time for myself and the reminder about how that impacts overall health and well-being
  • Kudos to Lisa for stepping up and doing a presentation in her first month of a new job!
  • Learning how performance Management fits into Strategic Planning
  • Concrete ideas regarding how to start a formal performance management
  • Self-care, food suggestions, decrease stress, perspectives in life
  • Lisa did a great job tying information together—being new to the administrative world, this presentation and the discussions were very helpful!
  • Jen—wonderful presentation. Great advice and good reminders to be joyful
  • Information about how to move my department further; planning
  • That I’m not alone with my stress and to allow myself to be bored without guilt
  • Take time to be bored—that is when creativity and personal growth occurs
  • It may have been interjected by a participant but the message was to help staff understand accountability—by saying “we need money to have this program, so do what you need to do to fill these patient spots so you can have a paycheck!”
  • Also like the communication plan and would like the form shared so I can bring it back to our office—“what are we sharing at a meeting? How are we sharing what we learned at the meeting?”

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Both sessions were excellent and great timing for my needs
  • None
  • Unsure
  • None—Lisa did a great job, allowed interaction from group and time to share ideas; Lisa had good examples
  • Both presentations were thought provoking

Ideas for future educational sessions:

  • Developing a strategic plan—how to’s
  • How to start a community collaborative and why
  • Jenny again! Love her
  • I’ll let you know when I think of something
  • Unsure
  • Juggling public health departments with shrinking staff. What to let go of? How to know if you need to let go of a program? How to motivate staff who already feel over-worked
