Objective:
AIM:
To impart practical knowledge to the students about Computer Aided Design and
Drawing of Marine Machine Elements.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course the students are expected to have been taught,
Design concept, selection of materials and manufacturing considerations in design.
Computer Aided Design concepts and applications
Design and Drawing of Fasteners and connection and Power transmission elements.
Design and Drawing of Friction clutches and Brakes.
Unit syllabus:
Engineering Design and Computer Aided Design: The design process, Concept, analysis, feasibility, Selection of materials and manufacturing considerations in design, Design with reference to repairs and reconditioning, specifically for working out at sea with its restrictions and limitations.
Role of computers - Computer Aided Engineering - Computer Aided Design - Design for Manufacturability – Computer Aided Manufacturing - Benefits of CAD.
