“FROM PERSONAL TO GLOBAL:

RELEVANCE OF F4F IDEAS AFTER 20 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE”

1)PLACE AND DATES:

-Chisinau, Moldova

-February 26th-27th 2011

-Arrival expected on 25th of February

2)PARTICIPANTS:

-Regional MeetingexpectstoinviteactivemembersofF4FRegionalNetwork from various teams and “generations”. By active we mean people who regularly take part in F4F/ IofC activities in their area and globally, who are running current activities/projects in their societies and/or give leadership in their local F4F team.

-We would particularly welcome young active generation of Foundations for Freedom local teams; this however is not of any requirements.

-We expect 2-3 members from each team

-We include also representatives of Action for Life 5 Eastern European team

-Totalnumberofparticipants: 40 people

3)CONTENT AND DISCUSSION MATTERS:

-We want to create a space where people from different teams can meet each other

-We want to have an opportunity to exchange the ideas and aspirations on the activities that we run on a local level

-We want to search together for how is our work relevant to the needs that we face in our communities and Eastern European region on a whole. As a part of this discussion, we want to define commonly shared matters of concern (both, individually and as a team) in our societies and see how F4F work can address those.

-We want to discuss the newly developed F4F Strategy and particularly priorities (areas of work) for the next 5 years

-We want explore the possibilities to work together in the united spirit and with common vision and hopefully define at least one common project for F4F Network for the coming year or two.

-We want to offer some training sessions on concepts of change, calling and vision, which will be run with the help of members of Action for Life 5 team in Eastern Europe.

4)FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION AND LOGISTICS:

-Approximate cost of one person participation is 30 - 40 USD per day (this includes accommodation and meals)

-We expect regional teams (and individuals) to support their members’ participation in Regional Meeting.

-We are currently working on the budget and trying to find financial support for those who can’t afford to cover these costs. More information will be given on opportunity to apply for financial support. Having said this, we do encourage F4F regional Network members to give as much support to participants as possible. We believe that if we chip in together – we will be able to cover costs ourselves.

-Participants are advised to come on February 25th. There will be someone meeting those who need help in getting around in Chisinau. If you need help – please let Cristina know in advance!

5)APPLICATION:

-Participants can apply by writing an email to Anna Pozogina (Latvia) or Angela Starovoytova (Ukraine).

-Deadline for applications: February 20th

-If you need financial support, please apply beforehand and note it in your email, stating what do you need support for (visa, travel or participation fee) and how much will you need.

6)PRE-REGIONALL MEETING:

-WE WANT THIS MEETING TO BE OF HIGEST USE FOR EACH PARTICIPANT AND TEAM.

-Therefore, we would like each team to discuss and develop thinking on some issues that we would like to focus on during our event.

-Please, spend some time to discuss the following questions:

  • What do you think are the most important challenges Eastern European region faces at the moment? What should be the issues of focus in our societies?
  • What are some of the matters that concern you in your local area, community or society? What is something you’d like to address in your locality as a team? Whathaveyoutriedtodoaboutit? Haveyousucceeded? If not, what have been some of the challenges for your work?
  • Where do you see relevance of Foundations for Freedom work in the region? How can we as a network of young and active people address some of the most important struggles of our region?
  • What are some of the ideas/initiatives/ projects (of F4F/ IofC) that you would like to explore more? Is there something that you would like to learn more about? (Please, let us know this before the meeting, so that we can fit it into Regional Meeting’s timetable)
  • What are some of the ideas that you are currently working on? Would you like to share your ideas with other teams? Do you think other teams can help you with implementing your initiatives/ ideas? In what way?
