The Uniting Recovery HASI service offers recovery-orientedsupport to individuals living with mental health concerns. The HASI service aims to support people to reach their own goals which may include employment, tenancy maintenance, physical health and mental health improvements.
Your main responsibility is to ensure that clients’ social and recreational needs are assessed and carried out, through the development of a therapeutic lifestyle program.This position is based in Oatlands, and provides services across the Western Sydney Local Health District.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications with full membership with Diversional Therapy Australia
- Experience planning and implementing leisure activity programs planning and implementing leisure activity programs for individuals in health care and in the community to assist in their social development, and promote their sense of wellbeing
- Experience identifying individual needs through task analysis
- demonstrated ability to evaluate and assess clients' levels of abilities, interests, needs, strengths and weaknesses, and their ability to carry out a range of tasks and interact with others
- demonstrated experience working with consumers with severe and persistent mental illness
- Understanding of the Principles of Recovery Orientated Mental Health Practice
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a member of a cohesive team
- Ability to utilise computer based software and programs
- NSW Driver’s Licenseor equivalent
- ‘Working with Children’ Clearance
- Prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in Suicide Intervention, or completion of ASIST training
- Successful completion of ‘Mental Health First Aid’ training
- Successful completion of ‘First Aid’ training
